Jewel case came broken into two pieces...I couldn't tell until I had already unwrapped it so I just switched cases with a CD I already had that I like less. But love Taylor and 1989 tracks

Okay, first off, I am in fact a Taylor fan. I have to say I was a bit disgruntled at the fact that Swift switched over to pop, but she did what she wanted to, and it's working for her. I'll do a song-by-song analysis of the album, whether you're considering purchasing the entire album, or just want to download a few songs from it.

1. Welcome to New York
At first listen, you might be tempted to skip over this song, but on a second listen, it gets catchy. The chorus makes you want to spin around in circles and sing along, but I feel that Swift really left some parts of the song too simple. Welcome to New York, Welcome to New York, Welcome to New York. Thank you, I got the idea. If you want something cheerful and synth-ruled, this is it. Not my first choice though, if you want to download just one song from the album.

2. Blank Space
Good song, but it felt too flat for me. It grows lifeless after a few listens and you'll want to skip over it.

3. Style
This is a terrific song and it never grows old. No matter how many times you listen to it, you'll want to play it over again and again. I just want to slow-mo dance to the whole thing. I'd say it's the best song on the album and really gives you an energized feeling. Great driving song.

4. Out of the Woods
To tell the truth, I wasn't a fan of this song, mainly because of the incessant "Ohh-oh, Ohh-oh, Ohh-oh" at the beginning. After a second listen, this song becomes more actiony and catchy. Not a good choice though, for a single download.

5. All You Had to Do Was Stay
Very catchy, makes you wanna dance. Great song, pop of course. The last chorus, in my mind, is excessive and needs to be cut short. Swift has great choruses and catchy hooks, but her overuse of the same sentence over and over again grows tiring.

6. Shake it Off
If you wanna dance for five minutes straight, go ahead. Not my favorite song. "Shake it off, shake it off, shake it off" what? I always skip over this one, just because it got so tiring after listening to it five times.

7. I Wish You Would
Fabulous song, great sing-along. Kind of '80s catchy and cool. Emotional, if you can call it that.

8. Bad Blood
Ugh. Even after listening to it a hundred times, I still can't bring myself to like this song. It's so half-done and lazy. I think that Swift was scraping the bottom of the bowl for ideas when she hit this. Worst song on the album. Too metaphorical.

9. Wildest Dreams
Very Good song. I love Swift's passionate singing and breathy voice for this one. Aside from the somewhat suggestive themes, it's a great listen. I could do without that "handsome as h*** " bit. But, whatever. Great song. It really stands out from all the others.

10. How You Get the Girl.
Cool song, a bit teenage-ish. You'll be signing along by the second chorus.

11. This Love
Fantastic listen! The guitar backing and slow singing is very emotional. If you had to buy two songs, Style and This Love would be the best choices.

12. I Know Places
Meh. That's all I can say. She sounds like she's screaming in this one.

13. Clean
Terrific song! Makes me tear up for some reason. One of the better songs on the album

Overall, I think 1989 is a great buy, mainly because of the wide variety of rhythms and vocal ranges Swift has. More action-packed and racy than her other releases and is great for the person who loves to dance. If you like '80s music, this is kind of cool. I recommend it. It's much better than the other stuff these pop stations are putting out.

Sure, my 7 year old loves rocking out to T-swift with her karaoke machine. But let’s be honest, everyone loves rocking out to some T-Swift. No judgment. If that’s your thing, totally cool.

I love Taylor Swift's karaoke CDs. Although the album versions of the songs have a lot of background vocals, the karaoke versions on this CD/DVD combo actually don't have all of the background vocals, so these karaoke tracks are awesome to sing along to. And also, because these karaoke tracks don't have all of the background vocals, you can hear a lot of the instrumentation which is really cool.

We love this T. Swift album. I am disappointed that it's missing some of my favorite songs but we had the extended album so that must be why. My daughter who bought this with her money for her karaoke machine has no complaints whatsoever. My other daughter who cannot read yet wishes more songs had the background singing.

Pretty sure I'm going to need a new one soon because the kids are about to wear this one out. It plays NON-STOP in our house. If you loved loved loved her 1989 CD then you will love this even more!! A must to go along with any karaoke machine.
