The only issue I am having after 1.5 years of use... 1 - I do at times wish the screen was bigger - but it is quite easy to attach to a large monitor at work and I use both screens - then undock and bring home... so portable; so durable; I have never looked back.
I am a physician - and I like the portability to use as a tablet at times -especially when rounding in the hospital; I even bought my nurse one because I believe it is such a good investment that after she moves on - I will still use... could easily be used as a patient portalable tablet in office setting, etc for checking in... answering self-assessments; education; taking online tests; etc.... Im actually so committed that I am just now buying a surface dial because I think I can see some use in it... and I kind of just want to check it out!!
The only real issue is the batter life is not great anymore... but it has, again, been 1 year and 7 months... so that's bound to happen... plus I've never been one to abide by the "rules" of use to extend battery life... I leave comp. plugged in fully charged for days, erratic about how long to wait to plug back in, etc...
The cover/keyboard works quite well.. and is very useful for travel. I like extended keyboards with R side number keypad myself... so I attack blue tooth keyboard at home and my favorite keyboard by HP + mouse that I plug into my doc at work...;
When at home... I have been using just a minidisplay to HDMI adaptor to connect directly to my monitor.. use the usb port for my mouse and still can charge using the standard charge....
More ports could def. be useful - but I have always gotten by...
So after seening 1 review posted that was not anywhere near my experience I felt I should post this.... This may be the 2nd review I have ever posted in my life... so yeah... that's how much I think this computer rocks.
The surfaces are notorious for having issues caused by Microsoft updates where they don't come out of sleep mode. If you are out of warranty, the other service Microsoft offers for something that was their fault is a $450 replacement which they send you a refurbished one of your same model.

Went to sleep and never woke up. All the tips and tricks offered by Microsoft didn't work. Read about the Surface pro units failing to wake up and then consider whether you want to waste your money or not. I have a very expensive paperweight at this point.
