Marvel shares three new ‘Phoenix’ #1 variant covers

Set in the X-Men’s upcoming From the Ashes era, Jean Grey’s new solo series ‘Pheonix’ starts this July!

Press Release

Marvel Comics has revealed three new variant covers for the upcoming Phoenix #1 issue, launching into comic shops on July 18th. Covers come by way of Rose Besch, Greg Land, and Aka. The series is written by Stephanie Phillips with art by Alessandro Miracolo.

So what’s Phoenix about?

She is Jean Grey. She is Phoenix. She saves the world. She brings death. One woman, alone in space, who not only must do what no one else can: she yearns to. A desperate S.O.S. from Nova brings the Phoenix to the edge of a black hole, where hundreds of lives hang in the balance…and whatever Jean does – or fails to do – will bring darkness to the universe and haunt her in ways she can scarcely imagine…

New York, NY— April 16, 2024 — In the X-Men’s upcoming From the Ashes era, one of the team’s most crucial members goes solo! Announced last week, Jean Grey will become a galaxy-traversing super hero in Stephanie Phillips and Alessandro Miracolo’s PHOENIX. Emerging from the explosive finale of Krakoa with renewed purpose, Jean embraces what was always hers: the breathtaking power of the Phoenix Force. Alone in space, she not only must do what no one else can: she yearns to. Whatever Jean does – or fails to do – will bring darkness to the universe and haunt her in ways she can scarcely imagine…

Today, fans can see her reborn on an assortment of new variant covers for the debut issue!

Best-selling cover artists Aka and Rose Besch spotlight Jean’s new Phoenix costume, designed by series artist Miracolo. Both pieces will also be available as virgin variant covers. In addition, iconic Phoenix artist Greg Land reminds readers how terrifying the Phoenix can be with an incredible depiction of Dark Phoenix.
