People's Republic of China. The Red Army Long March "Yihai Alliance" site in Mianning County, Sichuan Province. The "Yihai Alliance Memorial Hall" was built to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March Mianning and the Yihai Alliance.The Yihai alliance ensured the smooth passage of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants through Liangshan, and under the extremely difficult circumstances at that time, it preserved valuable vitality for the main force of the Red Army.
Vietnam. Ly Tu Trong statue in Hanoi. Ly Tu Trong was a Vietnamese revolutionary executed by the French when he was only 17 years old. He is considered to be a revolutionary martyr. His remains were identified in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City in 2010 and he was reburied in his parents home town Việt Xuyên commune of Thạch Hà district
CCCP. Monument to Sergey Alexandrovich Yesenin near the Church of the Savior-on-Yar on the embankment of Trubezh opposite the Ryazan Kremlin, Russia. The monument to the famous poet was solemnly opened on October 2, 1975 on the 80th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The sculptor of the monument was Alexander Kibalnikov. For this work, AP Kibalnikov received the RSFSR State Prize named after I.Ye. Repin in 1976. The author well emphasized the poet’s connection with his homeland.
Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Reliefs at the Motherland statue on the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, in Kiev, Ukraine. The museum, commemorating the German-Soviet War, was moved twice before ending up in the current location where it was ceremonially opened on May 9 (Victory Day) in 1981. Russian SFSR. The Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad, located at Victory Square in Saint Petersburg, commemorates the victims and survivors of the Siege of Leningrad. The monument, designed by Sergey Speranskiy and Valentin Kamenskiy, and sculpted by Mikhail Anikushin, was erected in 1975 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the end of the war. It consists of a 48–metre high obelisk, a large circular enclosure, and a subterranean Memorial Hall.
Crimean ASSR. The Monument to Lenin on a top of the Central Hill in Sevastopol, Crimea. The impressive monument from bronze and granite dedicated to the leader of the Soviet revolution, Vladimir Lenin was erected in 1957 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution 1917. Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic. Victory Day Memorial located at Dubrovin park in Daugavpils. A memorial was erected on the mass grave. In its center there are 7 wedge-shaped granite monuments on which metal plates with the names of buried warriors are attached. In front of the memorial, a commemorative slab with the year of liberation of the city is installed, behind there is a stone ridge with an inscription. The author of the memorial opened in 1984 was the sculptor Vladimir Ivanov.
Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. Vincas Mickevičius-Kapsukas sculpture at Grūtas Park located near Druskininkai in Lithuania. Kapsukas was one of the founders and leaders of the Communist Party of Lithuania and headed the Lithuanian-Byelorussian SSR in 1918-1918. After the defeat of these republics during the Lithuanian-Soviet War, Mickevicius left for the Soviet Union, where he worked for Comintern. He died in 1935. The statue built in 1962 was originally placed in Vilnius, Lithuania.
China. Guangzhou Uprising Martyrs Monument was established in honor of the Chinese Communist party members, killed in the Guangzhou Uprising against the Kuomintang on December 11, 1927. The monument is located at the Guangzhou Martyrs' Memorial Park, built between 1954 and 1957, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Guangzhou Uprising.
Russian SFSR. Composition Memory of Generations at Mamayev Kurgan memorial complex in the city of Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad) in Russia. The memorial built between 1959 and 1967, commemorates the Battle of Stalingrad (August 1942 to February 1943). The battle, a hard-fought Soviet victory over Axis forces on the Eastern front of World War II, arguably turned into the bloodiest battle in human history.
Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Samjiyon Grand Monument, just outside of Samjiyon, North Korea. This memorial, constructed by artists from the Mansudae Art Studio Pyongyang, in May 1979, commemorates the Battle of Musan in 1939, when Korean resistance-fighters under the command of Kim Il-sung fought against Japanese troops. The centrepiece is a statue of a 27-year-old Kim Il-sung, as well as a smaller version of Pyongyang’s Juche Tower and several revolutionary sculptures.
CCCP. Monument to Vladimir Lenin at Vishnyakovsky Square in Krasnodar, Russia. The memorial sculpture was made by the famous sculptor L. A. Dietrich and installed in 1925 at Vishnyakovsky Park.The pedestal consists of 3 parts: the first part is a sculptural image of Lenin, the second is a triangular pedestal, around which a multi-figure high relief, and the third part of the monument is the foundation, which, according to the author, symbolizes fragments of autocracy.
Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. Memorial to Soviet soldiers-liberators near the city of Siauliai. On the third day of the Great Patriotic War, the city was occupied by German troops. In July 1944, the troops of the 1st Baltic Front, commanded by Marshal Baghramian, carried out the Šiauliai offensive operation, during which, on July 27, 1944, Soviet troops entered the city. Fierce fightin continues until August 29th. The monument was inaugurated in 1973.

People's Republic of China. Huili Conference Monument at the suburban iron plant of Huili County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province. On May 12, 1935, the Politburo of the Communist Party of China held an enlarged meeting, in the Long March, which unified the strategic thinking of the Central Red Army, further consolidated the results of the "Zunyi Conference". Mao left the Zunyi meeting in position to take over military command and become the leader of the Communist Party.
DDR. Memorial of the German Interbrigadists in Spain at Friedenstrasse in the Volkspark Friedrichshain, Berlin. It was built between 1966 and 1968 according to the designs of the sculptor Fritz Cremer. The monument to the Spanish Fighters is the center of the memorial, which commemorates the more than 3000 Germans who died in the Spanish Civil War. A bronze plaque with relief scenes from the Spanish Civil War, created by Siegfrieg Krepp, is placed next to the Spanish fighter.
Vietnam. Hỏa Lò Prison was a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. Prisoners of War during the Vietnam War. During this later period it was ironically known to American POWs as the Hanoi Hilton. The prison was demolished during the 1990s, though the gatehouse remains as a museum.
People's Republic of China. The Fushun Pingdingshan Massacre Memorial Hall is located at No.17 Nanchang Road, Xinfu District, Fushun City. On September 15, 1932, the Japanese invaders deliberately committed atrocities in Pingdingshan Village, Fushun in retaliation for the Liaoning people’s resistance to their aggression. "Pingdingshan Massacre". At that time, there were more than 800 houses in the village, with more than 3,000 people and more than 500 households.
Tatar Autonomous SSR. Victory Park in the city of Zelenodolsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The park was opened on the 50th anniversary of Soviet power on November 6, 1967. At the same time, a monument of glory was opened in the park and an eternal flame was lit. The sculpture "Soldiers" created in 1970 by Yuri Ushakov, became the center of the park. The Alley of Heroes appeared in the park, in the bronze bas-reliefs of which 15 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Zelenodol were immortalized.
Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. Memorial complex "Mound of Glory" located in the village of Sychkovo, Bobruisk district, Belarus. The memorial, installed on November 4, 1967, is dedicated to the the soldiers of the 1st Belorussian Front and partisans who died during the liberation of the Bobruisk region in June 1944. In the 2000s, the Gates of Glory near the Bobruisk-Minsk highway and 13 commemorative plaques in honor of the Heroes of the Soviet Union were added to the memorial.
Vietnam. Victory Monument Giong Thi Dam - Go Go Cung at An Phuoc Commune, Tan Hong District, Dong Thap Province. It was erected in 2004. It is dedicated to the 502th Battalion of Kien Phong Province ,established on 23 September 1959 in Giong Dam. After 3 days of establishment, the battalion set up a resounding victory at Giongame Dam, Go Guan Cung, defeated the regimental operation, killed many enemy, captured 105 prisoners, collecting weapons, armaments and military equipment.
Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic. Monument to K. Zemdeg at Meža Brothers Cemetery, near Tukums Forest, Latvia. At the foot of the Forest Cemetery, in the 30s, the Brothren Cemetery with a monument to K. Zemdeg, a young soldier with a rifle in his hands, was sworn in, giving an oath of allegiance to his people. The monument was unveiled shortly before the arrival of the Soviet Army in Latvia, on May 19, 1940. This monument is considered to be one of the best artworks by K.Zemdega.
