The first 3 miles of Whitney Trail is out of Whitney zone, so you can still walk up and visit one lake. At trailhead there is a big waterfall and even a restaurant. Of course, be prepared if you wanna go to Mt Whitney

Started the hike with 12 people. Finished making it to the top with 12 people. This is not a Adventure that you can do unprepared. Trained for 6 months and many miles of hiking. The group all had their struggles but we all enjoyed the 3 days we took to summit. Will someday

If you feel like going for a long hike and don’t mind the altitude this is the perfect day out. This was my third time and it seems to get better and better. I try to get on the trail at Whitney Portal before 3am and hike quite fast to get warm. The first miles are really easy
