Sunday shopping in Frankfurt: only the big malls/centers?

Hello!

The next Sunday shopping in Frankfurt should be oct. 12.

Is the whole city center opened or only the big malls/centers like Zeilgalerie, Kaufhof, Sky Plaza ?

Are labels-stores (not in shopping malls) downtown open?

Are opening hours from 13-18/19 right?

Tank you in advance for your kind answer.

Regards.

the malls will be open, individual shops decide on their own if they open up or not. Hard to say ...

12. October is "Stadtteilsonntag" (suburb Sunday). Shops outside the inner city ring (former city fortifications today a small park belt around the city center) can open from 1pm to 7pm.

Skyline Plaza will be open as it is outside the city center. Zeilgalerie and the whole rest of the shopping street Zeil not.

It is not compulsory to take part. But I assume that the label stores in the shopping streets outside the city center will be open. E.g. Berger Straße in Bornheim, Schweizer Straße in Sachsenhausen, Leipziger Straße in Bockenheim, Hanauer Landstraße in Ostend

Most of the Zeil, including MyZeil, Zeil Gallerie, Galleria Kaufhof, Karstadt, etc. will also be open on 12 Oct. as well as the neighborhoods and outlying malls.

In German, but it lists the stores that are open:

Here some local sources on the Stadtteilsonntag 12. October 2014

There is a reason why this Sunday is not listed on the MyZeil website

It says Saturn in MyZeil is open though, and Vera Moda, ProMode, etc. With the Book Fair in town, it seems hard to believe that they would leave the one mall closed with all of the other stores open.

Who says this? verkaufsoffene-sonntage.com ?

There are dozens of such portals. And these are no reliable sources. They are half automated and have little editorial capacities (as this costs). They will barely get first hand information from the shops/malls (albeit this is what they dream of).

Here something now really official on the Stadtteilsonntag published by the city itself. Esp. read the last paragraph. This is from 2013, but if they publish such news just 5 days before the event than it is obvious that their 2014 information is not out yet.
