Seville to Granada

We are touring various cities in Spain and perhaps you could help

me with the next part of our journey.

We are going to Granada on 27/9/18.

When I went to book our train tickets, it seems that we cannot leave

from Santa Justa Train Station. A time table for Alsa buses comes up.

It seems we can travel from Antequera-Santa Ana Station. This appears

to be 17Km outside the city and I am not sure, the best way to get to

this station early in the morning (I think the train is at 9.05).

We are leaving from the hotel Bequer.

Would you advise going by bus to Granada or by the train from A-SA.

I would like to book our tickets in advance.

Ah. Another Becquer clone.

You are within walking distance from that beloved establishment to the Plaza de Armas bus station so if I was going (which am not) would choose the best available bus on ALSA web. The Supra Economy leaving at 10am is comfortable.

No idea where you find train tickets but I always use RENFE who are the main operator of trains in Spain

http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html

although at this time the details are not all showing. The train for Granada goes from Santa Justa as well as San Bernardo.

Because of the bus transfer system into Granada organised by RENFE I think bus all the way is nicer especially as your location is convenient.

I left for Granada to Ronda a week ago by train. The train hasn’t been working for past 3 years! So you buy a train ticket but it’s actually the bus that takes you for an hour then a train station. I can’t remember the exact name of the station but if you just go to the renfe website to buy the ticket it will include the bus shuttle to Granada.

If you take the train to Granada, you will go by train until the train station of Antequera. There you will be transferred to a bus to Granada because they have not finished the new AVE line to Granada.

For trains:

For Granada:

For Alhambra Tickets (Book early- at least 3 months in advance):

https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es/en/tickets-alhambra-general/

If you are too late in buying tickets for the date you want, you can try calling your hotel and ask them to buy tickets for you, since the Alhambra allocates tickets to hotels for their clients. If this fails, you can buy the Granada Card for 40 euros, which includes a ticket for the Alhambra.

Downtown Granada is Calle Reyes Catolicos. Use Booking.com to screen hotels and apartments in the Granada City Center. A good hotel downtown with parking is the Vincci Albayzin. Shopping streets are Calle Reyes Catolicos, Calle Zacatin, and Calle Recogidas. There is a large El Corte Ingles Department Store at Carrera de la Virgen, 20. The Alcaiceria is beside the Cathedral and has many shops.

Good restaurant: Restaurante Chikito (Plaza del Campillo, 9; Tel: 958-223-364) - A gastronomic restaurant that has won many prizes for its food. Reservations are a must.

Take the ALSA bus. We are total snobs :) and we loved the bus.

Yes, do take the Supra Economy.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a Normal ticket and the Supra Economy - only thing I can find on the website is free wifi and entertainment. Is the seat any different??

Supra has individual leather seats , only 3 seats across not 4 and less seats than a normal bus (more leg room0 , toilets , individual touch screen TV.s ,movies radio online papers and so on ,also bottled water head phones , all round worth the extra cost imo , however the normal bus is still okay .
