Willard Mitt Romney is an American politician who served as the 70th Governor of Massachusetts for one term from 2003 to 2007. After serving his term, he didn’t seek re-election but instead focused on earning a nomination to the 2008 US presidential election. However, John McCain became the eventual presidential nominee. Romney eventually won the 2012 Republican nomination, but was defeated by Barack Obama in the 2012 general election.
