Address
Neighborhood: Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

Lots to see
Dec 2019
Came here following the Prague Nuclear Bunker tour.
An absolute mountain of information and details about communism. There is plenty of posters and propaganda details to demonstrate how communism transpires, as I have not experienced, nor been aware of many of the details about communism.
We didn't have much time, but could easily have spent an hour or two here. Plenty of variety so suitable for a wide range of age groups.
Deeply upsetting, but a vital part of the museum, to remember those who suffered trying to immigrate.

Interactive and informative
Jan 2020 • Friends
Myself and 5 30ish year old guys went along to this. We had a brilliant time and were impressed with how interactive the tour was. We got to crawl through an escape tunnel, try on uniforms and pose with guns. The tour guide was lovely and had some great banter. He also had a wealth of knowledge and clearly enjoyed answering our weird and wonderful questions so get involved!
The tour starts in the lobby of the Jalta Hotel, you can sit in the lobby while you're waiting. There are lots of bunkers and communism tours in the city so don't do what I did and go to the start place of different tour! This is the only 'Cold War Museum.'

Fun Cold War Tour
Jan 2020
I love anything Cold War so this was a must on my visit to Prague. The museum is hidden under a hotel which is simple to find on a busy area. You are escorted town by your guide in a lift, then stairs. We had the brilliant Barbara who was dressed up in uniform and was fun, interesting and knowledgeable. The bunker has guns you can hold, a escape tunnel to try and lots of kit and gear used during the era. The highlight is the phone tapping of the hotel rooms above. Really fun tour. Enjoyed!

Visiting the Cold War Museum
Dec 2019
One of the best museum experiences I’ve had in Prague, my guide was Ms.Anna, she seemed to know a lot about the cold war history. Not to forget she’s been constantly providing me with some cool facts about the building itself. If you happen to be in the center of Prague, definitely consider visiting this place!

Great Tour under the main drag
Jan 2020 • Couples
Barbara was an amazing guide, very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, and she put up with my klutziness after banking my head and knees in the crawlspace (it's really quite safe, I'm just a klutz).
The bunker is relatively small, but packed with a lot of interesting, genuine items from communist Czechoslovakia. Really cool, quick tour, highly recommended, especially for history enthusiasts

Great Experience
We went in with the student card, thw price was fair. The place is small, but the guides are enthusiastic and professional. You get to hold guns, take pictures of everything and even get into a scaping tunnel.

A little disappointing
Dec 2019
We were looking forward to this but were slightly disappointed. It was quite small and limited to a number of rooms used for surveillance during the Cold War. The guide was quite good with a good knowledge of history, but somehow the horrors of the Cold War and the implications for the lives of the Czechoslovakian people were not really brought alive. It was a reasonable way to spend an hour or so but I wouldn’t particularly recommend it for anyone interested in Cold War history.

Very Cool

Very nice to have a hotel with a underground Cold War bunker. Crawls though a tunnel. Wear a jacket and hat.

Excellent walk through history
This tour is of a former nuclear bunker under a hotel. We booked online and short notice. Our tour guide David was excellent, he had lots of knowledge and spoke perfect English. He gave an honest impression of the museum (I.e pointing out what was original and what wasn’t and so on). Some really interesting rooms including holding actual soviet firearms and crouching through a nuclear escape hatch. Not something you do every day.
