The birch head is 511 meters high. The rubble of the city of Stuttgart was deposited on the mountain after the Second World War. Hence the colloquial name Monte Scherbelino. Because of its height and location, it is of course a wonderful vantage point.

Nice view of the Stuttgart city center. Here, the remnants of the bombed-out inner city were transported after World War II to make room for the reconstruction of the city center. Since then, the birch head is 40 meters higher.

Those who live in the area call the birch head "Mt Scherbelino" because the "shards" come from Stuttgart and the surrounding area. The rubble that arose in the city during World War II.

If you walk in on the main path and continue around the whole perimeter, the path behind the rubble will take you out a different, stairway path you may not have noticed on the way in (before and to right of main entrance sign).

From here you have a great view over the whole of Stuttgart and into the Remstal.
At the "summit", fragments of the destroyed buildings were left to commemorate.
