Cannibalistic post-apocalyptic fun
Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2017
A very unique film. Set sometime in the not-too-distant, highly dystopic future, it follows a female released from prison who wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland and the struggling communities therein. Cannibalism, Keanu, and an incredible, silent performance from a barely-recognizable Jim Carrey ensue. Excellent use of music and cinematography. Sometimes I found the film overly stylized, which would hinder me from seeing it again for awhile, but the first time is a great cinematic experience showing that there are perhaps new things under the sun. Not for the weak of stomach, but a rewarding ride that ultimately taps into our humanity despite our circumstances.
