Richmond Palace... Henry VIII lived at Richmond until Wolsey gave him Hampton Court Palace. Anne of Cleves lived at Richmond after her divorce and both Henry VII and his granddaughter Elizabeth I died there. Not much of Henry VII's palace remains, but a walk around the area between Richmond Green and the Thames reveals a few sections of the Tudor structure. What remains has been made into a private residence and is not open to the public.

Burghley was built for Sir William Cecil, later 1st Baron Burghley, who was Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1558 & 1587 & modelled on the privy lodgings of Richmond Palace. It was subsequently the residence of his descendants, the earls &, since 1801, marquesses of Exeter.
Hampton Court Palace. Cardinal Thomas Wolsey took over the site of Hampton Court Palace in 1514. He was Henry VIII's Chief Minister. Henry stayed in the state apartments as Wolsey's guest immediately after their completion in 1525. Wolsey only owned the palace for a few years. In 1528, he gave the palace to Henry as a gift in order to win the King's favor. This was Henry's primary residence. Much of Henry’s Tudor palace can be viewed today and is the only surviving Tudor palace

She was accompanied, under heavy guard, to the Palace at Hampton Court where Queen Mary and Philip were holding court. Mary was torn. She was a dutiful wife, madly in love with her husband who she obeyed but she hated and distrusted her sister. She refused to meet Elizabeth but shrewd Philip did. He eventually persuaded Mary to a reconciliation.
