This is a movie I'd been wanting to see for a very long time, but never had the opportunity to until recently, and let me tell you: it was worth the wait.
The movie went in a lot of directions I wasn't expecting out of it (and that's a good thing in this case), and genuinely managed to surprise me with where the plot ACTUALLY went. It very much deconstructs the usual dynamic of this kind of 'superhero vs supervillain' setup, albeit while obviously parodying Superman in both Megamind and Metro Man's backstories (plus the latter's powers).
And naturally, being a Dreamworks movie, the CG is fantastic. Though Megamind often looks a bit... odd, it's undoubtedly intentional. And of course, Megamind's definitely right when discussing the difference between a 'villain', and a 'SUPERvillain'; his presentation is fantastic. When he arrives, he makes sure you KNOW IT.
Also, gratuitous use of very fitting rock music is always a plus. Megamind's got good taste.
