Louis XI of France seized the opportunity to attempt take possession of the Duchy of Burgundy and also of Picardy and Artois. The couple produced three children over the next four years including the future Philip I "The Handsome". At the age of 25, while falconing with her husband, her horse threw her, then landed on top of her, breaking her back. She died after lingering several days.
