Movie is great, but beware of incorrect page information

The movie itself of course is great, but I want to mention and confirm something I read from another reviewer. The 2006 edition lists the run time of the movie at 103 minutes, but what you will get is in fact the shorter 96 minute version. Also mentioned was the thin translucent case it comes in; mine did as well though not an issue to me.
Even knowing it would likely be the shorter version, I still wanted to own it and the $6 price was hard to pass up, but just want to raise awareness for others. I also reported the incorrect page information and would encourage others to do the same so that they may correct it!

If you like old movies (not computerized junk) an enjoy a good laugh then you should watch this movie. Lucy and Ricki were a great pair and had that comedic timing which made you laugh at the dumbest things. No nudes, sex or foul language just plain simple comedy. If you haven't watched this in ages it is worth the $3.00 to rent. It certainly took my mind off of everything that is going on in the world right now. Thank you Lucy and Ricki.

It has been a long time since I first watched The Long Long Trailer on TV with my dad. It was a Sunday afternoon favorite. I have two rules for buying a film: 1. I have to expect I’ll watch it at least 3 more times (monies worth) and 2. it has to be “background material (something I’ll both watch and at times use in the background as I work. This film has done both... over and over... and now with steaming... over again.

Lucy is a classic and anyone enjoying her work will like this. It’s another take on the Lucy-Dezi partnership - harkening to the days they were in love and making things together. They were a wonderful team on screen and this movie pairs them in a way that is unique, charming, and memorable. They were in the Tiny House movement before it was... a movement. And this film might convince you never to want to live in an RV, or like me, may make you dream of it... yes, I watched this movie all those years ago and wanted to RV ever since.

Overall this has been one of my favorite classic films throughout my life and I was thrilled to get it steaming. Enjoy... as date night, a weekend afternoon, or while working... Lucy is always classic.

One helluva good movie. The kind the entire family can enjoy without having to worry about the kids hearing a barrage of f-bombs being tossed about. And you can take heart as it's in Techicolor - nothing else comes close, not even today. Colors are so vivid. Based on the book, the acting and story line itself is superb! It's actually one of my top ten all time favorite movies. Everybody has their own opinions I suppose, your mileage may vary...though not by much! A must have particularly if you're a fan of I Love Lucy. Funny, beautiful scenery, and oh, those Trailerites of days gone by. What nostalgia! Highly reccomended.

Another reviewer said this was painful. I couldn't agree more. If you love Lucy and her high-pitched idiocy, then you won't mind that everything that can go wrong does go wrong. At 39 minutes in I had to turn down the volume to zero and fast forward, just to see what happens. So why did I give it even two stars? I grew up in the fifties. The actual footage of clear-skied and less densely-populated California, especially in the Sierras, and specifically in Yosemite, are worth the price of admission, I suppose. Plus, the dresses are the ones my mother and grandmother wore and I adore the fifties cars and the trailer. So as early fifties memorabilia, yes, why not? But truly, other than that, it's just awful.

The acting is horrid. The direction is juvenile.
The script is just terrible.
My whole family was really looking forward to watching these two legends in full color in a big Hollywood production.
It was so bad we had to turn it off.
Unnecessary chaos.
Bad gags.
No plot.
Bad acting....
Just watch the TV show.

Fun movie, great location scenery, a must for I Love Lucy fans

This plays out like an extended episode of I Love Lucy in color. Even though it was released when the series was on in prime time, it's not connected the show. Lucy and Desi have different character names and are newlyweds. Desi plays a civil engineer who has to travel to various projects around the country. Lucy thinks having a trailer so they can take their house with them is a great idea. Desi, not so much. Misadventures ensue as they travel cross-country with their trailer. It gets to the point of almost destroying their marriage. Of course it all gets worked out in the end. A very enjoyable movie. The quality of the film print is excellent. There's some spectacular location scenes shot in Yosemite National Park.

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz are probably best known for their TV show from the 1950s. Here they do something a little different, they are a married couple.....oh, wait a minute, that's what they did in the TV show. Anyway, they play a couple of people who meet and fall in love almost at first sight. Desi plays a nerdy scientist type, and Lucy...well she plays herself. Once in love the obvious next step is marriage. But even beyond marriage, Lucy's character is dreaming of the proverbial home with a white picket fence. BUT before the home and the kids and the dog and the mortgage, they decide to take a road trip as a part of the honeymoon. What begins as a little camping expedition in a small trailer and Desi's old car escalates to unbelievable proportions! What happens after is hilarious. But to be fair, there are times when you may become a little irritated with one or the other or both of these newlyweds. This may be the characters, but it may also be the sociology of the times, the 1950s, that reminds you that this is not a movie made yesterday. Some of my favorite parts: arriving at and meeting Lucy's family and the dinner being cooked by Lucy as Desi drives along singing the praises of what will be ready for dinner when he stops the car. As you know Desi and Lucy were married in real life until they divorced in 1960. But while they were married they were a wild and passionate husband and wife and a formidable couple in the motion picture and TV industries. In this film you can see the chemistry that once was Lucy and Desi. A fun film...enjoy.

Nicky and Tacy ( not Ricky and Lucy ;-P) buy a huge dream trailer and the aqua coloured dream Mercury Monterey convertible v8 to pull it. They head off on an open roads of the American Dream for a honeymoon/newly - wed adventure. This isn't Jack Kerouac - but it is a visual feast of U.S. mid-century design. Her dresses are beautiful in this. If you already love Lucy then you won't be dissappointed by this. (the four stars is because the format is the original cinema ratio so it looks kind of small and has black border )

They fall out over one incident in particular but all is well in the end. There are scenes that are genuinely funny along with irritating sequences when the comedy is drawn out a little too long. It is easy watching and enjoyable.
