David Foster's daughter Amy tells Katharine McPhee engagement 'haters' to 'shut the f*** up'

David Foster and fiance Katherine McPhee's 34 year age difference has had some talking.

But the musician's daughter Amy hit back at critics while talking to Us Weekly Tuesday, bluntly telling the magazine: 'The haters [can] shut the f*** up because they are perfect for each other.' 

The singer/songwriter, 44, put her full support behind the couple, continuing: 'I know that some people have been hating on that relationship.'

'All I can tell you is it absolutely works when you see them together. It's love,' she added.

She only had good things to say about multi-hypenate Mcphee, calling their relationship 'close.'

'I'm so close with [Katharine],' the Home singer said of her decade younger soon-to-be stepmother.

'She's amazing and funny, fun, smart, elegant, timeless, beautiful, talented. I can't say enough about her.' 

Katharine said 'yes!' while the couple were vacationing in Capri, Italy in early July. 

Amy's younger sisters Sara and Erin already congratulated the couple.

He was notably wed to Linda Thompson, who although happy for her ex did express a bit of concern upon learning the news, telling Us: 'I wish them well. I think the only thing that’s a real deterrent, I think, is the age difference.'

'But I think life doesn’t have any guarantees anyway. If you find someone you love, go for it, you know? [McPhee is] a lovely person. She’s beautiful and she’s talented, and they have that musicality in common, so that goes a long way.'
