Kept BP under control for several months but side effects were too much. Dry mouth, insomnia, heart ?? palpitations. Got worse as time went on. Cut back to half, with some relief, but still not worth it. Will try diet and exercise. I’m a 60 year old female, 5’5”, 135 lbs with no other health history. This medication is bad!

took THIS FOR 10 YEARS AFTER QUAD HEART BYPASS. MADE ME TIRED/SLEEPY AND STOVE ME UP. all joints were difficult to move, just tossed and turned when trying to get comfortable to sleep. Doctor told me to stop using it and in 2 days my joints were relieved, sleepiness faded and was able to do things without the grunts and pain. I can get on the floor now and get back up by my self. This product was not good for me so if you have the same problems as i had tell your doctor and if you dont get to feeling better in a week just stop taking or tell your doctor again, and you may have to tell him stearnly.

I started taking this drug 2 years ago. I have had zero side effects. I will say though that this pill did well in taking away excess water and helped keep my blood pressure down immensely. I do recommend this drug for people who may not have any side effects with it. Just like with ALL medication if side effects occur consult your doctor.

Cough that would not stop causing multiple bilateral rib fractures. Been in ER twice. The pain this has caused me is unbearable.

I took this drug for about six months. Immediately after starting the drug a slight cough began. The cough turned into an annoying regular occurrence with the feeling of "something in your throat" sensation. My doctor told me this was likely to go away in a few months but it continued for six months. Every business meeting involved me coughing, every theater attendance involved me coughing, waking up at 2 AM coughing was routine. Finally enough was enough. The drug does keep the BP down but the cough had to go. What is most interesting is it is reported that only 2 out of 10 experience this side effect but almost everyone you talk to has this side effect so the numbers seem a little bogus.

I took htz 12.5 mg lisinopril 10 mg for three years. I always had a cough. In August of 2017 I had a blown up lip out of no where and ended up in the ICU in anafalactic shock and being treated for Angioedema with steroids, epi, benadryl and allegra/pepcid histamine blockers. Both hospitals I went to because the next day I was right back in and the ambulance tech said it was from the lisinopril. That they are seeing 3-5 patients a week with severe face, tongue, lip, throat edema. I was so scared and I would recommend not taking this drug. I took it for three years and never had a problem except the cough. I have been seeing an allergist that says my histamines are so high. I'm taking two allegras and benadryl daily. I have never been the same since that day and its almost two months later. The cough has went away but my blood pressure is going up after two months. They want to put me on spirolactone combo with htz and I'm not doing anything until I get my body right. I hope this helps someone because I personally know alot of people on lisinopril and I hope no one ever has to go through what I did.

My husband has been taking this particular medication for about a year. He previously was on Lisinopril only, which apparently didn't bring his blood pressure down far enough. He has had only one side effect, but it has been present since day one and (hopefully) he will be asking the doctor to change it when he has his appointment in a couple of weeks. His side effect is difficulty maintaining an erection.

I have been taking these meds for years now with very mild side effects at times. Generally well managed if you drink water throughout the day to avoid possible dehydration.

I've been on this drug for 6yrs, with another blood pressure pill. I've experienced dizziness the whole time and coughing until it escalated to passing out while coughing, fractured rib messed up nose, ect. Chest pain and three Tia's, strokes, one trip calling an ambulance and half my face still affected, to find out the longer your on this pill it causes you're blood pressure to spic, and usually the dr will give you another drug on top of the lisinopril. I quit taking it, blood pressure is great just taking another drug, no dizziness, my anxiety is better, no coughing, and I can breath better

Prior to taking this drug my doctor prescribed Diovan Hct 160/25. The drug Lisinopril HCT 20/25 works just as well for a fraction of the price. $10 for a 3 month dose as opposed to $234. I do feel tired but the drug works.

I have been taking this medication for over a year. I have had no issues, until recently when I was feeling palpitations in my chest. After visiting the ER, it was found that I had an electrolyte imbalance in my blood, with low potassium levels. This can cause such sensations of the heart, including arrhythmia, chest pain, and more. Luckily for me, having no history, and otherwise being healthy, my palpitations were not believed to be anything more serious (heart disease). I was given large KCL pills, since then no more palps! but man this side-effect can sure scare the **** out of you..
