We loved our stay at the Holiday Inn express at Pensacola Beach. All the rooms have an ocean view which was excellent. I love the balcony and waking up to the sun rising. The rooms were nice and modern. The breakfast was excellent serving eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, pancakes and all the other regular breakfast stuff. It was fresh and tasted good. The staff there was really great and attentive. All the furniture is new. We heard that hotel was only open for a couple months before hurricane Sally. They had extensive water damage and had to replace a lot of stuff. The pool was nice but probably better for a younger kids as it had a beach access and wasn’t very big so there wasn’t much of a deep end for swimming. Also it borders the parking lot on one side but that’s part of the beach on the other. Great beach access. I would highly recommend.…
We really enjoyed our four night stay here over Labor Day weekend. The staff was super friendly, and we loved the location right on the beach. All rooms are facing the gulf, and have a balcony with chairs, so you have an amazing view no matter where your room is. Everything was clean, and the room was spacious. Our king size bed was very comfortable. The staff all wore masks, as did the majority of the guests. Next time we vacation in the Pensacola area, we will definitely stay here.
This is a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location with a very good staff. The hotel is older, but due to renovations you would never know it. It comes across as very modern and extremely well maintained. Everything worked well in and outside the room. And BIG kudos to them for making a decent attempt at breakfast. Although very minimal, in Covid times it is better than most other hotels offering a water, granola bar, and maybe a piece of fruit (pathetic)! Beach access is perfect! Almost a flawless stay, save for one comment and one complaint... Comment: while sitting, the balcony view is badly blocked by the walled-in design. Not anything really they can do about that, but we didn't care for it. Complaint: this will not bother the majority of guests, but for me it was VERY irritating. They are using a generic TV control which does not allow you to see the guide! And since I always like to watch something for 1-2 hours before sleep, without access to the guide it can take 20-30 minutes to just sift your way through all the channels while battling with commercials! OMG!!! I hated that so much that I dropped the rating to 4 bubbles on what would have been a 5 bubble rating for sure. I've seen those controls in other IHG properties, and they REALLY need to stop using them. I realize most people won't care, but for those who do, now you know! In summary: a great experience overall.…
First and foremost - every room is facing the beach - ALL of them. That makes it great My only complaint about the entire room and stay is the change between the carpet and tile near the room entrance is different heights so I stubbed my toe on the tile twice. Room view awesome. Walkway to the beach awesome.
My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel acknowledged our anniversary with a bottle of champagne and an upgraded room on the 7th floor. We had a great time and loved that every room faces the gulf. The staff did a great job with breakfast following safe protocols in light of COVID. Beach access was easy and there was plenty of room to spread out on the beach. The only thing this hotel is missing is an onsite restaurant and bar. Lunches and dinners took more planning since there isn't anything in comfortable walking distance in the Florida summer heat. Peg Leg Pete's is a short drive though and is a must for any visit to the area. This was our second stay here and we will definitely be back again.
