The goal of Hardin County JFS is to promote and protect the health and welfare of children, with the focus of keeping families together. This includes identifying, assessing and providing services to children and families in an effort to prevent further maltreatment. In the unfortunate situation when the parents/caregivers are unable to reunify with their children, HCJFS will work to locate a permanent placement for the children.
HCJFS is also responsible for Adult Protective Services. HCJFS works with communities and families to protect the elderly or adults who have disabilities from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
