After another loss in a big game, some fans have started to wonder about the Owls' program direction and what the biggest concerns are so far. One of the first places fans should look when asking about some of the issues on this team is the success of the players FAU has taken in the NCAA transfer portal and through junior college programs in Willie Taggart's first two classes.

The transfer portal can be used as a significant advantage for a school such as FAU, with so many highly-ranked homegrown Florida prospects deciding to return home or stay in-state after time at a Power Five program.

It is tough to ask new coaching staff to put together a strong class with the early signing period, leaving many new head coaches scrambling for talent as most schools have players locked up. Taggart had to try and fill some big holes left by the Lane Kiffin regime at the receiver and defensive line positions.

The 2020 class of transfers has been mediocre to entirely disappointing.

The 2021 crop has shown more promise, and many of the players have multiple years of eligibility, so the upside remains with some.

Let's review every player FAU has got through the NCAA'S transfer portal and junior college the last two offseasons and how they are contributing now.

Editors note: Yanez Rogers, Eli Fields, and Sebastian Dolcine were all recruited originally by Lane Kffin's staff and were "inherited."

Class of 2020:

FAU took six transfer portal transfers and three junior college players in 2020.
