The county presiding judge performs only administrative functions and usually does not handle cases. AS to the family law presiding judge that is also an administrative function and this person handles only calendar items in department 2 downtown and rarely takes cases. Your divorce case will be assigned to one of the Family Law judges in the courthouse nearest (probably High Desert in Lancaster) to you or if you file downtown, then in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
