Trinity Hall is an official residence of Trinity College that is recommended for all students but particularly for new entrants to College. There is a vibrant sense of community at Trinity Hall with an active Junior Common Room which organises a diverse range of activities making the Hall an ideal place to make friends and get acquainted. But there are more than the social activities to consider as Trinity Hall is organised as an academic community with the appropriate supports and just the right amount of reasonable regulation.
We anticipate that in 2023 Trinity Hall will start an exciting redevelopment project on one of its older residences. Prospective residents are advised that there will be some level of noise, and construction traffic to be expected during the works; and some communal facilities will not be available to residents during the duration of the project.
Residential Room Applications for 2023/24 Academic Year
It is expected that applications for Trinity Hall will open from 28th March – 22nd May 2023 for new entrants to college. We anticipate that the provisional offers to CAO students will be made in late June 2023.
It is important to note that places at Trinity Hall are not offered on a first to apply, first offered basis. Each year the demand for accommodation greatly exceeds the number of places available. Once the provisional application process has closed on 22nd May, random selection will be used by the Warden on all applications to choose a selection of applicants. These applicants will be made a ‘provisional place’ offer. Applicants not selected during the random selection process will be notified. Following the First Round of CAO offers, and on being successful in getting a place in TCD, ‘provisional place’ holder’s supporting statements will be used to assist with the allocation of room assignments.
Please note this important information below:
CAO students – Your full name and your CAO number MUST match your CAO application. Any discrepancies/errors in your name and CAO number may lead to your accommodation application not being reviewed.
For example, if your full name has been registered in an English format on your CAO application, it must be in an English format on your accommodation application. If you have used your full name in an Irish format, this must be in an Irish format on your accommodation application.
Please ensure that you use your CAO application number and not your Leaving Certificate exam number.
NON-EU Students and Deferred Students – If you have been provided with a TCD student number, you MUST apply through TCD student stream rather than CAO applicant stream. To do this, please ensure that you register your account by completing the “Students with a Trinity College ID” fields. Failure to apply through the correct stream may lead to your accommodation application not being reviewed.
Applications under Special Considerations – If you are seeking accommodation on the grounds of a disability, illness or other extenuating circumstances, please ensure that you complete a Special Considerations Form. These forms will be accepted until Friday, 26th May 2023. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
