- Violin Anime GirlBerlin, Germany33 contributionsThis gate welcome us for first time after we park our car in Parkplatz in front of Wall near Elbe River. It's literally stunning and amazed me , this place is worth visit. I was here with my husband, we like architecture, culture and art. So visiting some landmarks in Tangermünde is a good decision and you can explore and taking picture because this place is really quite. This picture was taken from above, so you can take a whole gate with the tower and Elbe in the background.Written March 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tentlady1Alexandria, VA24 contributionsMy grandmother was born in Tangermunde in 1892, and raised there. It was delightful to visit the church she worshipped at, but St. Stephen's is well worth a visit even without the family connection. The interior is Baroque with older touches, and the organ dates from 1624. I was lucky enough to attend a concert of organ and trumpet - it was amazing.Written September 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andre NCanada345 contributionsThe town was virtually deserted when we were there in mid December, yet most stores and restaurants were open. The architecture is interesting, medieval, in various states of restoration. Takes you away to times long gone by. Worth a visit for sure!Written December 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tentlady1Alexandria, VA24 contributionsI was in Tangermunde for over 2 weeks, and must have gone into the tourist information a dozen times. They seldom lacked the answer, and were always courteous to me.Written September 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tentlady1Alexandria, VA24 contributionsGreta Minde was tried, convicted and burned for the arson that burned much of the oldest part of Tangermunde, based solely on the testimony of her b.....d of a husband. He was a thief, robber, and probably murderer who, after wasting Grete's dowry, thru her to the wolves to save his own hide. There were no women on the jury, who were desperate after 2 years to find someone to blame for th fire. Had there been, Grete would never have been convicted. Have things actually changd that much, or are women still blamed for the deeds of men?Written September 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tentlady1Alexandria, VA24 contributionsAn awful lot of stairs, but the tour and views are well worth it. The information on the ground floor is also worth perusing.Written September 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
