Two new shows have been announced for the State Theatre in 2023: Saturday Night Live comedian Colin Jost and RuPaul's Drag Race "Werq The World Tour."

Jost is performing on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Tickets go on sale via Hennepin Theatre Trust's website on Friday, March 24. They range from $45 to $75. RuPaul's Drag Race is scheduled for Aug. 1, 2023. Tickets for that event also go on sale Friday, with prices ranging from $49.50 to $89.50.

Colin Jost

Jost is the head writer on NBC's Saturday Night Live and has earned accolades that include five Writers Guild Awards, two Peabody Awards and 12 Emmy Ward nominations for his work on the show, for which he is best known as the co-anchor of "Weekend Update" with Michael Che.

A graduate of Harvard University, the Staten Island, New York, native started writing for SNL in 2005.

He last performed standup in Minnesota in June 2019 at the Mystic Lake showroom.

RuPaul's Drag Race

"RuPaul's Drag Race" is a long-running TV show hosted by RuPaul that seeks to find America's next drag superstar, with contestants competing in fashion, acting, and comedy challenges.

The description of the event at the State Theatre is as follows: 

"In this show, perception is not reality… Asia O’Hara, Daya Betty, Jorgeous, Kandy Muse, Naomi Smalls, Plastique and select finalists from Season 15 are unknowingly trapped in the Netwerq…"
