Prince William and King Charles have a much better relationship these days, and Kate Middleton is the reason why. In Robert Jobson's upcoming book, Catherine, The Princess of Wales, he revealed that the Princess of Wales has been a “calming influence” on the entire royal family, having the most positive effect on William.

Middleton's influence has extended to William's bond with Charles, with a senior source in the biography stating that “in recent years, they have become much closer” because of her. Admittedly, it's not too surprising, given the princess's tight bond with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, and her siblings Pippa and James.

The source added that William “also respects his father and his devotion to service, but he feels the fact his father put work first had a detrimental impact on him when he was growing up and didn't help their father/son relationship." Time—and of course, confiding in Middleton—has allowed William to see things from Charles's point of view.

“(Princess Kate) is somebody who always tries to see both sides of any dispute,” the book insider noted, further explaining that the princess is both "emotionally mature" and a "stabilizing influence" on the monarchy—even in the monarchy's more tumultuous times.

William's relationship with Prince Harry is yet to be determined, and continues to remain at a stand still, with sources telling OK! that "William and Kate are very consciously focusing on positivity and recovery" at the moment.
