Winesellers, Ltd. Adds Spanish Brands La Maldita and Castillo de Monseran to Its Portfolio of Global Wines

Niles, IL – July 14th, 2022 – Winesellers, Ltd. announces its appointment as exclusive U.S. importer for Spanish brands La Maldita and Castillo de Monseran. The agreement between the Sager family and these two brands will further strengthen the depth and breadth of the Winesellers Spanish portfolio.

The La Maldita portfolio, which is produced in Rioja by the Vivanco Family, will consist of Garnacha, Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Rose lined price at $15 NSRP. This partnership expands the Winesellers relationship with the Vivanco family, who also own Carlos Serres in Haro, Spain.

Castillo de Monseran, from the Cariñena region of Spain, produces a Garnacha at $11 NSRP, and will later be joined by other wines alongside this flagship red wine.

Both premium brands have a strong history in the US market with national success and have been highly awarded with numerous 90 point plus scores from the major wine publications.

Castillo de Monseran was created by flying winemaker Hugh Ryman in partnership with Bodegas San Valero. San Valero was created in 1945 by 60 grape growers as a winemaking cooperative. Today it has grown to include around 700 growers who cultivate a total of 4,000 hectares of vineyards and is one of the largest producers of Garnacha in Spain. Sixty percent of the production is still bush vine and San Valero has more than ten percent organic production with the remainder either sustainable or in conversion to organic.
