This is a zoo review by Bruce the zoo guy of the Wilmington Brandywine Zoo. This is a very small Zoo. But it is very well done. The enclosures are nice and spacious and even though there's very few animals you seem to be treated very well. Small gift shop small snack bar but that's about it. There are none of the big popular animals like elephants giraffes or anything like that. They're all smaller animals and birds. But like I said it is pretty nicely done. And the setting of it in the park by the river is very nice.…

I was recently visiting in the Wilmington Delaware area and decided to visit the Brandywine Zoo. This is a relatively small Zoo, not much to see here. If you have small kids this could b as a fun day out for them. Maybe due to the pandemic things were a bit slow that day and animal exhibit weren't quite ready. Overall it was a nice day out. …

As long as you accept that this is a small zoo, with small to mid-sized animals it it fine. The animals looked contented and well looked after. The entry fee is cheap and the day we visited it was off season so the zookeepers outnumbered the customers. We knew it was small going in based on reviews and research, so that was fine. We were looking for something to fill out the day after other adventures. Being October, it was only $19 for three kids and two adults. We got there 45 minutes before closing, and had plenty of time to see everything. They weren't running any programs that late in the day, so that may take more time, but you are still looking at an hour. You are close to most of the animals and they looked well cared for, though the enclosures were somewhat small. Not a trip by itself, but a good tag on, or a leg stretcher to get the kids out of the car if passing by on 95. Recommended, within those parameters. In this case, average is fine.…

Thanks for stopping by. You missed the Keeper Talks and Creature Feature by an hour. Next time! Happy travels.

The zoo is very small so don't plan on a very long trip. We thought it was pricey for what it is. The red pandas are great though and the male red panda was very entertaining to watch.

Thank you for visiting. The red pandas are quite entertaining. I hope the kids enjoyed the petting area with the goats. Look to the website for frequent special programming you might enjoy.
