Albrecht, (PRINCE ALBERT LUITPOLD FERDINAND MICHAEL), DUKE OF BAVARIA, German head of the more than 800-year-old House of Wittelsbach and pretender to the Bavarian throne; he survived the Nazi concentration camps of World War II and went on to become an internationally known forestry expert (b. May 3, 1905--d. July 8, 1996).
