Finks OMCG member arrested, Gold Coast

Taskforce Maxima detectives have arrested an alleged patched member of the Finks Outlaw Motorcyle Gang (OMCG) after allegedly uncovering dangerous drugs at a residence on Paradise Island overnight.

Officers executed the search warrant at the unit, allegedly locating methylamphetmines (ICE), cannabis, steroids, other restricted drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old Paradise Island man, an alleged patched member of the Finks OMCG Gold Coast chapter, was issued with a Notice to Appear in court on three counts of possessing a dangerous drug and one count each of possessing restricted drugs, possessing property suspected of being acquired for the purpose committing a drug offence and possessing drug utensils.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 3.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Taskforce Maxima said: “Finding gang members in possession of dangerous drugs continues to be a weekly, if not a daily occurrence. The negative impacts of illegal drugs, particularly ICE, to the community cannot be overstated.”

“These offenders need to understand that whilst they continue to commit offences, we will continue to target them. The community expects us to do this and accordingly, we will be unrelenting in our efforts.”
