They’ve said goodbye to postpartum blues and postpartum flab in no time and have gone back to their fabulous lives without a wardrobe change. They take pride in being hands-on mothers, don’t shirk from diaper duties or PTA meets and know how to turn an outdoors shoot into a family vacation. Meet the screen goddesses who have turned motherhood into an artform and are inspiring million others into following their glorious example.

Mom Is the Word

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

The actress tied the knot with singer Nick Jonas on December 1, 2018. They welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas on January 15, 2022, through surrogacy. They were headlining every portal at that time because of their chosen method of conception. However, Priyanka has never been someone to be carried away by speculation and criticism. She has only grown from strength to strength in her professional career. As her daughter turned a year older, Priyanka has been on a spree of announcing back-to-back projects such as Citadel, Heads Of State, and Love Again. She is also a producer and businesswoman; very recently, her haircare brand was touted to be the second-richest brand in 2023. She’s truly been one of the forerunners of jumping onto the next big thing, all of this with a healthy work-life balance. She celebrates every important festival from Diwali to Easter with her little one.

Mom Is the Word

Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji , is one of the most powerful performers of all time, gave birth to her lovely daughter Adira on December 9, 2015.   What’s noteworthy about Rani’s filmography post-embracing motherhood is the kind of incredible scripts she has chosen. She made an applause-worthy comeback on celluloid with her film Hitchki in 2018. Essaying the role of a person suffering from Tourette syndrome, where you involuntarily make repetitive sounds or gestures Rani’s portrayal was absolute perfection and fans sure missed her on the big screen. She then came back stronger and better with her performance in Mardaani 2. Recently, her film Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway has been further proof of what an incredible artiste she has always been. Stars from the ’90s era, such as Rani Mukerji, are proof that good talent always has its place. There truly cannot be a greater joy than being a mother but actresses in the last 10 years have only proved how they are always capable of bouncing back stronger and doing credible work.

Mom Is the Word

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan welcomed her baby girl Aaradhya on November 16, 2011. Like every mother, her priority became her daughter. And she wilfully took a break to be a hands-on mother. Aishwarya was trolled mercilessly for her post-pregnancy weight gain. So much so that it became the biggest news when she walked the red carpet at Cannes. However, she has never been one to get scared of the darts. She was back on the big screen in 2015 with her film Jazbaa. She went on to do f ilms like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Fanney Khan, and Sarbjit eventually. She was hailed as a performer in Ponniyin Selvan, helmed by Mani Ratnam. She continues to be the chosen face of multiple endorsements even today. In tandem with the current generation of actors, Aishwarya has never shied away and only bounced back stronger.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is what they call timeless in more ways than one. The actress continues to be the face of several leading brands and is on the list of many ace filmmakers even today. Kareena was hailed as having carried her pregnancy with utmost elegance as she was seen shooting for films, walking the red carpet, and gracing magazine covers. Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan

Alia Bhatt

She tied the knot with the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor, on April 14, 2022. The world was taken aback when she announced her pregnancy on June 27, 2022. There was a mixed bag of judgements being passed about how being a mother at the tender age of 29 was the worst decision ever. Considering Alia had delivered her biggest success to date, Gangubai Kathiawadi, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, at the beginning of the year, netizens believed that she was giving up a glorious career when it was at its peak. However, she has only gone on to achieve more milestones as the year passed. From turning producer with Darlings to shattering all boxoffice records with Brahmastra, she has been unstoppable. She was seen promoting her films and interacting with the media all through her pregnancy, standing tall as a shining example of how maternity leave need not be an excuse to stop working. She returned to work recently as she headed off to Kashmir with her daughter for the shoot of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. She has her big Hollywood film Heart Of Stone release last year, which is only going to usher in better opportunities for this immensely talented actress, and it looks like she’s only just started!

She’s been quoted on leading entertainment portals about how the script has to Anushka Sharma be worth it for her to juggle work and her time with her daughter Vamika. She gave birth to her second child, her son Akaay on February 15, 2024.  Coming back to the silver screen with a f ilm like Chakda Xpress, which is a sports film based on the life of woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami, takes as much physical determination as it does emotional.
