Anybody else noticed these first two stills didn’t make the final cut? I’m disappointed that the Colin pondering over his hand cut scene wasn’t showed and I guess we had a version of Colin reading Lady Whistledown (the issue about Pen) shown slightly different (as him looking out his windows towards Fethearington’s house). Is the third still from second part we think?

I think that was a BTS photo.
There was also the one of Pen in the carriage after the moon and stars ball with the quill having to write about herself on Whistledown. Wish we had gotten a lot of these moments. Feels a bit like they got sacrificed for other stories.
We saw her writing about herself after the full moon ball though. Only it was in her bedroom which makes far more sense anyway. One couldn't possibly write with a quill in a carriage.
Yes, we did see that part. I was just commenting that it was another still we got for promo that wasn’t actually shown in the show, which just seems odd to me (to release images that don’t happen in the show universe).
Agree that it is a bit odd. But a lot of the stills were actually misleading and they definitely did that on purpose. It's a marketing strategy. Basically all the Debling stills were used to freak Polin fans out which was actually kind of hilarious 😅 those stills pissed people off so bad and then it turns out Debling wasn't any threat at all lol
Ugh, I don’t understand some of the people that are still shipping Pen and Debling in the main sub. He was so underwhelming to me, especially contrasted with Colin.

We do see her write, though, only in her bedroom. I guess they just preferred the shot of her writing while crying in her desk.
The writing part wasn’t my issue, because yes, we did see it in her bedroom. Just confused as to why they released multiple stills for promo that never appeared in the final cut of the show.
They didn't. Most of them were leaks.

Not to complain but I feel like it's been a running theme this season; whoever edited the show, I feel like they hacked it to bits. I enjoyed it and I loved the Polin scenes we got but people on the main sub were pissed about how chopped up everything felt. Like we had no smooth transitions between scenes and it felt like a lot of Polin scenes were cut short or needed a beat longer to get the vibe/emotion across to the audience.
I'm just curious what the thought process was with production.
Yes I felt the same way. Chopped scenes, chopped dialogues. I’m just slightly worried that part 2 is similar in its editing.

Or maybe too long lol she was the one really pushing the female friendship love story between Pen and Eloise (which I love and is sooo beautiful) I feel like that got fleshed out better than the Polin narrative.
Well if the amateur fan like me feels something is odd then they obviously missed the mark there. But I try to focus on positives and scenes I love and cherish what we have even tho I wished he had more
Petition for Netflix to release all deleted Colin scenes or even better an extended season 3!! They KNOW we will gobble it up!
I think the first one is probably a cut scene of Colin reading the Whistledown issue about their lessons, before he goes to see her that night. Would have been nice to see his anger on Pen's behalf (but also unknowingly towards Pen herself - the irony)

There were others. The two that stand out are the still of debling and pen at the fair, and one of a couple sitting on a blanket in front of the fortune teller’s booth. I also think the shot of Colin and the others pulling on the balloon ropes wasn’t actually in the show either.
Oh, the still of pen smiling at Portia while debling signs her dance card also.
I thought the second kinda did. After the bandage scene isn’t there a moment with him just sitting at his desk rubbing his hand? I thought there was
Don’t think so. He never sat down at his desk after Pen left.
It’s not in the same episode as the cut but he does have a sit at office and reflect moment in ep 3 or 4 (can’t remember which one).
When Violet comes in to talk to him. I can't remember if he is shown looking at his hand though, I think he was reading his journal?

so many scenes are missing, when episodes should have been longer as their time is only 50mn... so 10 minutes missing by episode....
show is supposed to be 8 hours but for now at the Middleton we are only at 3h40?, the second part will be longer?
I agree! And what is upsetting me the most is that it seems they cut a lot of Luke’s scenes 😫 I believe they filmed a lot more than made the cut but let’s cherish what we have
I think part 2 is gonna be longer as there's more drama going on.

The last still is from episode 5:Anthony returns and is a bit concerned about how quickly things have progressed between Colin and Penelope. So, he and Benedict take Colin to Will's Club to discuss it with him. Colin acknowledges that it seems sudden when they bring it up, but he explains that he and Penelope have known each other for a long time. He's had these feelings for a while; he couldn't identify them.
There is also a part form the first trailer where Colin is in a yellow bed pondering something. And the closest we got was when he stumbled in drunk but it was at night and the pillows were white not yellow.

You are correct i just rewatched the trailer and realized it wasn't even in it. It must have been another video someone made that I am remembering! 😆😆
His bedsheets are actually yellow in that scene.

I notice the first still is the outfit he had on when looking out the window to the Featherington house. So he read LW, was worried, and wanted to check on Pen so he bribed Rae and then first kiss moment.
