Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther remains one of the best-realised versions of the character in recent history. Black Panther is a popular character who has made multiple appearances in some of Marvel’s greatest projects, be it Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, or even the upcoming video game Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

The Black Panther which was introduced in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War remains one of the best versions of the character in modern media, one that was expended on with Ryan Coogler’s 2018 MCU entry, Black Panther. One scene in particular demonstrates how accomplished and well-rounded the character is, which is a sequence from Civil War, where Bucky is taking on the unarmed Avengers, specifically, Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, Steve, Natasha, and of course, T’Challa.

A testament to the Black Panther’s abilities, T’Challa finds himself face to face with Bucky Barnes after the HYDRA agent has had run-ins with Tony Stark, Captain America, Natasha Romanoff, and Sam Wilson. All these characters were seasoned fighters in their own right but the Winter Soldier tore through them like they were fresh recruits out of combat training. However, the character onslaught came to a sudden halt, when Bucky Barnes found himself pitted against the new monarch of Wakanda himself.

Chadwick Boseman‘s T’Challa not only held his own against the Winter Soldier but actually put the character on the back foot,  causing Bucky to retreat from the fight. To further demonstrate how strong the character was, Black Panther was the only character who did not have some sort of weapon at hand to fight Bucky or have some sort of enhancement at the time (as was the case with Steve).

While the United States was busy working on Project Rebirth, as countries around the world participated in the Super Soldiers arms race, it must be noted that Black Panther and Wakanda were already centuries ahead of the curve, producing Super Soldier monarchs since they got their hands on the heart-shaped herb.

While Bucky and Steve were a product of relatively new science, it must be noted that Black Panthers have perfected their super soldier formula for thousands of years, which gives any indigenous super soldier out of Wakanda an edge like no other, especially when compared to the various supersoldier programs around the world.

This is further corroborated by the fact that the Dora Milage was able to defeat John Walker, who was by all means a super-soldier, while the former were trained in a manner to handle them. These are the same characters who also held their own against N’jadaka when T’Challa returned from the grave.
