Summer is upon us, which means sunnier days, lighter evenings and, of course, new Love Island. Over the years the ITV2 show has successfully matched countless couples who have gone on to have kids and even tie the knot.

Jess Harding and Sammy Root were crowned winners of last summer's series, beating favourites Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki to bag the £50,000 prize. But did their relationship last after leaving the villa?

So before Love Island 2024 welcomes another set of singletons through the villa doors, let's take a look at where the couples of series 10 are now and if any of them are still loved up one year on.

Despite winning Love Island, Jess and Sammy called time on their relationship three months after leaving the villa. Jess confirmed the split on Instagram during a Q&A session with her followers.

Asked how she was doing since the break-up the reality television star responded: "It's been over a week now since we split so I'm getting there. We shared a once-in-a-lifetime experience together so of course I'm sad."

And when one curious follower quizzed: "Why did you and Sammy split?", Jess responded: "I really don't want to go into detail by doing a big statement but we're just very different and behave differently and that's it."

Sammy also confirmed the news in an Instagram post, telling his followers: "I thought I would come online to address today's news about me and Jess. Yes, we had a private conversation regarding our relationship but this was left up in the air as Jess is still away and we haven't had a chance to speak in person. To be totally clear – I at least wanted a face-to-face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be the respectful way forward.

"We had the most incredible experience winning Love Island and I genuinely saw a future with Jess. I was committed and respectful of our relationship. Unfortunately, things don't always work out the way you'd hoped. Despite how this has all played out today. I think Jess is an amazing woman and genuinely wish her all the best."

Now, this is a couple who are going from strength to strength. Last month, Camden-born Whitney posted a life update video on her YouTube channel where she answered some of her dedicated fans' most pressing questions about her life post-villa.

Responding to a fan question on her vlog this week, Whitney revealed she was considering moving in with Lochan. The social media star, who boasts over 1 million followers across her social media accounts, told fans on YouTube: "I would live with Lochan, but I am torn because Lochan lives with his friends."

She continued: "Him and his friends are going to get a place for themselves for a year. And then the following year it’s ideal that we’ll move in together". Meanwhile, in a recent Instagram reel, the happy couple have been enjoying a holiday together in Dubai. Absolute couple goals.

Love Island fans were rooting for Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde when the couple finished in third place. After leaving the villa there was speculation the pair had broken up in November 2023 but soon confirmed they were giving their relationship another go.

By February 2024, the pair parted ways and this time it was 'for good' after their seven-month relationship. The pair even practically wiped each other from their social media in the aftermath.

Mitch and Ella were coupled up on Love Island, but it won't come as a shock to learn they split soon after leaving the villa.

Despite leaving the island with Ella B, Mitch was previously in a partnership with Molly Marsh and Abi Moores. Shortly after exiting the show, the pair broke off their romance and Mitch headed into the villa for the All Stars which aired back in January. He didn't find love there either.

Molly Marsh and Zach Nobel are still a couple despite a brief split that reportedly lasted six weeks. The influencer and the basketball player starred on the hit ITV2 show, surviving the biggest hurdle when Molly was dumped from the villa early in the series.

Miraculously, the bombshell returned during Casa Amor, and the pair went all the way to the final, finishing in fourth place. After separating for a short while, the couple are currently travelling around Australia together and documenting their trip with Instagram followers.

In a photo posted on Tuesday, May 16, Molly and Zach pose beside one another on the Blue Mountains as they enjoy their adventures together. Cute.

The eleventh series of Love Island is set to launch in July.
