Kristen Bell Reveals the 'Glorious' Way Dax Shepard Celebrated Her on Mother's Day (Exclusive)

Kristen Bell is praising her husband for putting together the perfect Mother's Day for her this year.

The Veronica Mars alum, 43, who shares Delta, 9, and Lincoln, 11, with husband Dax Shepard, tells PEOPLE that her podcaster husband has mastered the art of treating her for the holiday.

"About six years ago, my husband started recognizing the hypocrisy between Father's Day and Mother's Day," she tells PEOPLE.

"On Father's Day, dads are allowed to, let's say, go golfing for eight hours and not see anyone. For some reason, on Mother's Day, we are expected to be woken up with breakfast in bed and have all the kids all around us at all times. That's not a big celebration. That is something that is a daily thing in my household," she explains.

Instead, Shepard treated her to "a Father's Day Mother's Day."

Bell says, "He got the kids out of the house and he hired a masseuse and a manicurist. He had my mom friends over, and we just sat and didn't take care of anything or anyone. Rather, we were cared for the whole day, and it was glorious."

The actress' Mother's Day comes after her family trip to Mexico in April. In a carousel post on Instagram, the proud parents were captured having a romantic kiss, while their daughters drew in sand.

Although the couple usually keep their children’s lives private, Bell also shared a glimpse of their lives last September when they attended the ballpark to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Instagram carousel post featured a clip of Shepard and Lincoln holding hands while skipping through the hallway of the stadium. With Delta following behind, the duo kicked their legs out as they passed through the crowds of people.

"Dadding looks so cute on @daxshepard 💜," Bell wrote in her caption at the time.

"Been a minute since I trotted this show pony out on the IG," Shepard added as she shared a post of him and his wife at the game. "Family @dodgers game while the evenings are still warm and glowy. 🔥🔥🔥,” he added of the outing.

Meanwhile, the couple have also expressed how being parents is the greatest gift.

“When I have failures in life, I get to come home and still be dad," Shepard said during a SXSW panel in Austin, Texas in March 2023. "It is the most transformative experience. You can feel it's why you are here."
