Apex Legends: Upheaval is here, bringing about all new content for players to enjoy. The powerful Legend Alter has finally made her debut, and the map has been altered yet again with her arrival. Solos Takeover has also returned this season and is sure to be a hit among solo players.

Some fan-favorite weapons have received a few minor buffs, while weapons like the notorious Wingman have returned to the floor. S-Tier Weapons

Devotion in Apex Legends

S-Tier is home to the best meta weapons available. While quite a few of the weapons here are Supply Drop exclusive guns, some ground loot weapons also have earned their place here. The S-Tier Weapons for Apex Legends Season 21 include:

  • Devotion: While this weapon has been strong for quite a while now, the Devotion has finally entered the Supply Drop rotation, offering it significant buffs. This LMG sports a fast fire rate and an exceptionally high DPS. The hipfire accuracy has also been buffed, making it a powerhouse up close.
  • EVA-8: As one of the few Supply Drop exclusive weapons, the EVA-8 is bound to be the top Shotgun to find. This fully automatic weapon is deadly up close, remarkably beginner-friendly, and requires very little skill to use. Though its range is limited, the EVA-8 is a must-use for the close-range meta.
  • Havoc: Remaining as a top-tier weapon for Season 21, the Havoc is not to be slept on. It has an exceptionally high DPS value that outshines the R-99, and has relatively low recoil. The hipfire of this weapon is also fairly tight, making it excellent up close. Though the weapon does have a slower fire rate initially, this can be bypassed with the Turbocharger Hop-Up.
  • Prowler: An excellent Submachine Gun. The burst-fire capabilities of the Prowler may turn some players away in favor of the R-99 or the Volt. However, the Prowler is a remarkably versatile weapon. The weapon is easily controllable, proving great up close when firing from the hip, and can even be viable from medium range.
  • Hemlok: A versatile Assault Rifle to use in Season 21 of Apex Legends. Despite the string of nerfs it received for Season 20, the Hemlok still dishes out high damage if all three of its bullets hit their mark. Though more tailored for medium-to-long-range engagements, the hip-fire accuracy of the Hemlok also makes it pretty good up close as well.
  • Peacekeeper: An excellent Shotgun to run as a quick swap-to secondary. The Peacekeeper has a fairly tight pellet spread even when firing from the hip, making its damage potential pretty high. Of course, this attribute can be enhanced further with the use of Disruptor Rounds.
  • Kraber: Without a doubt, the best Sniper Rifle in the game. Though its availability is only limited to Supply Drops, the Kraber is a remarkably strong weapon, capable of downing most players with one or two shots. It is excellent across range, and a perfect weapon for a skillful marksman.
  • Bocek Compound Bow: A versatile Bow with great medium-to-long-range potential. The Bocek Compound Bow is easily the least favored of the Supply Drop exclusive weapons. However, its high damage-per-shot and ability to engage opponents from a distance do make it a viable option if you happen to come across it.

A-Tier Weapons

Flatline in Apex Legends

A-Tier is home to some seriously legendary weapons. Though not ranking as high as many of those found in S-Tier, they can dominate the battlefield of Broken Moon. The A-Tier weapons for Season 21 include:

  • Flatline: Definitely one of the more popular weapons in the lootpool. When compared to the R-301, the Flatline just narrowly beats it in terms of DPS. This heavy-hitting Assault Rifle is superb for medium-range engagements, with its only flaw being its poor hip-fire accuracy.
  • R-301: A solid all-purpose Assault Rifle. The R-301 is remarkably versatile, proving sufficient from mid-to-long range whilst also performing well when firing from the hip at close range. Though the Flatline does outclass the R-301 in terms of DPS, the difference is not too great.
  • Volt: A solid option for the close-range meta. The Volt's damage is greater than the Alternator's base value, but falls behind the R-99 by a small amount. However, the Volt is relatively easy to control, making it one of the best options out of the three for high-intensity gunfights.
  • Alternator: Though not exactly a popular choice, this compact SMG is a great weapon to rely on at the start of a match in Apex Legends. The Alternator does trail behind the R-99 in terms of raw damage output in the close-range meta. However, out of the two, the Alternator is by far the easiest to control, especially when firing from the hip. This makes the Alternator a great early-game weapon to use for running and gunning. The Alternator can also be a great counter against Shields with the Disruptor Rounds Hop Up.
  • R-99: A nifty Submachine Gun sporting a surprisingly high DPS to boot thanks to its exceptional rate of fire. The R-99 is a superb weapon for aggressive players, shining at close range. Though its recoil pattern can be pretty unpredictable at times, the R-99 remains a great weapon for either opening or closing a fight up close.
  • Wingman: The Wingman was a solid option back in Season 20 with its addition to the Supply Drop. However, with it returning as floor loot, the weapon has been knocked down slightly, especially considering the removal of the Skullpiercer Hop-Up mod and the extended magazine attachment. Despite these changes, the Wingman is still a solid option for dishing out high-damage shots among accurate players.
  • Nemesis: An ideal weapon for medium-to-long range. The Nemesis Assault Rifle is a burst weapon that can rack up some serious damage as its fire-rate increases the longer it is fired. Though the weapon does require a keen level of accuracy to use, its fast fire rate can be more forgiving than other available weapons.
  • Mastiff: A solid close-range weapon. The Mastiff offers the second-highest DPS out of all the Shotguns, narrowly beating the Peacekeeper in its base level of damage. Though the Mastiff does require players to aim down sights to make the most of its damage, thus putting more emphasis on accuracy than other Shotgun options, it still packs a punch.

B-Tier Weapons

30-30 in Apex Legends

The weapons in B-Tier do not necessarily hold a candle to those found in both S and A-Tier. However, when in the hands of players who have improved their aim and other skills, they can prove viable choices. The B-Tier weapons for this season include:

  • 30-30: A Semi-Automatic Marksman Rifle ideal for pressuring opponents from medium-to-long-range. The 30-30 retains decent damage from its Season 19 counterpart even following the nerf, but still requires a keen level of accuracy to use effectively. Despite this, however, the 30-30 gains a solid B-Tier rating, even with the removal of the Skullpiercer Hop Up Mod.
  • Sentinel: Often regarded as one of the best Snipers in the game. Though the Charge Rifle is one of the least viable long-range weapons due to its charge time, the Sentinel's charge time is shortened when chaining shots together. Amping the Sentinel with a Shield Cell will also boost its damage output, making it a decent consideration for aspiring Marksman. The only caveat of this Sniper Rifle, aside from the need to be accurate, is its fairly low magazine size.
  • Triple Take: Definitely one of the more beginner-friendly weapons. The Triple Take's main strength is the fact that it fires three projectiles, making it much easier to land shots at enemies. The weapon can seem inconsistent in situations where all three projects do not hit their mark, but this can be mitigated with the Choke function at range.
  • Spitfire: Arguably one of the most viable Light Machine Guns. The Spitfire comes with a decently high DPS and great medium-range potential. This weapon is great for keeping the pressure on enemies with its high ammo capacity.
  • L-Star: A truly formidable weapon when in the right hands. The L-Star comes with a high DPS to boot, and is a decent option for engaging players up-close. With its unique aspect of never needing to reload, besides overheating when fired for too long, the L-Star proves to be a great weapon for keeping pressure on opponents. Unfortunately, the weapon's usefulness from afar is fairly diminished thanks to the slower projectile speed it has.
  • Rampage: A heavy-hitting Light Machine Gun with a slow-fire rate. When compared to the Spitfire, the Rampage is outclassed in its base DPS. Though the weapon can be revved up through the use of Thermite Grenades, boosting its damage output beyond the Spitfire, this perk is rather situational, thus harming the Rampage's potential.
  • Mozambique: This pocket Shotgun has come a long way since its initial debut back in Season 1. Though its high-damage potential is dictated by whether it comes with the Hammerpoint Hop-Up, the Mozambique is more than capable of downing players up close quickly.

C-Tier Weapons

CAR in Apex Legends

C-Tier is home to many of the lesser viable weapons for Apex Legends. Though some high-level players may be able to dominate their matches with any one of these guns, ultimately they have lost their place in the casual and competitive meta. The C-Tier weapons for Season 21 include:

  • C.A.R.: Arguably the least viable of the Submachine Guns. In terms of DPS, the C.A.R. sits somewhere in the middle of the Alternator and the R-99. However, the horizontal recoil control of this Submachine Gun did unfortunately take a hit at the beginning of Season 20, rendering it the least controllable of the three. However, the C.A.R. does come with a unique benefit, and that is its ability to take either Light or Heavy Ammunition.
  • Longbow: A hard-hitting entry-level weapon that has received some much-needed buffs this season. With the weapon's base level recoil and bullet drop significantly reduced, the Longbow has become much more viable in the medium-to-long-range meta. The weapon does require great timing and accuracy, however, given its slow fire rate.
  • G7 Scout: A Marksman Rifle with decent medium-range potential. Though the weapon is semi-automatic, its fire rate is fairly moderate, providing it with decent damage output. The main downfall of the G7 Scout is its weapon kick, which can be detrimental to players looking to deal critical damage on moving targets. The G7 Scout is also a less versatile weapon, proving to function pretty poorly from up close and afar.
  • RE-45 Auto: Arguably one of the more viable Hanguns in Apex Legends. The RE-45 Auto's biggest strength is its high fire rate, granting it a DPS almost comparable to the R-99. This makes it a decent swap-to weapon to run alongside another full-auto weapon. Though not inherently bad, the RE-45 Auto is still outclassed by other weapons when it comes to versatility, as the weapon only really shines up close.

D-Tier Weapons

Charge Rifle in Apex Legends

Falling into D-Tier now, which houses the least viable weapons in Apex Legends. The guns found here are arguably the poorest performing available in the game's lootpool, and fail to compete against most other weapons. The D-Tier weapons for Season 21 are as follows:

  • Charge Rifle: Though the recoil control of this weapon has been improved slightly when aiming down sights, the Charge Rifle is still one of the least viable weapons in the game. The charge-up time of this weapon greatly harms its potential, as players will need to rely on having their targets out in the open while it charges. Though the potential damage output can be great, high-damage weapons like the Kraber are a much better option.
  • P2020: Arguably one of the worst weapons to consider using in Apex Legends. The P2020's damage output leaves much to be desired, as it is outclassed by virtually every other weapon in the game. Though it can be enhanced with the Hammerpoint Rounds Hop Up, players are still better off running any other weapon in the game.
