$11.6 million Tampa condo sale at the Ritz-Carlton sets new record

A condominium at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Tampa sold for $11.6 million on Monday, according to a deed filed with the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court.

It is the highest grossing condo sale ever recorded in the Tampa Bay area, beating the record set by Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik. He paid $8.34 million for his unit at the Tampa Edition in February.

The developer, Related Group, previously announced that the penthouse was under contract for $11.6 million.

The buyer is listed as Kentucky-based Oinkerton Investments LLC. That company also owns a condo in the Aquatica on Bayshore, according to Hillsborough County property records.

The sold out Ritz-Carlton Residences Tower I tops out at 28 stories and features 89 condos and 12 townhomes. Amenities include a swimming pool, spa, a gym with a Pilates studio, tennis courts, a media room with golf simulator, a wine room, a children’s playroom, an onsite cafe, 24/7 valet and concierge service.

Tower II broke ground in November and is still under construction.
