Edward “Ed” Abner, age 83, of Monticello, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at his home.
Ed was born on July 19, 1940 to the late Otha Abner and Flora May Brown Abner in Grape Vine, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, trapping, fishing, gardening and farming.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Flora Abner, brothers: Carl and Larry, sisters: Opal, Lethie, Jane and Shirley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Edward L. Abner of Monticello, Ky; daughters: Lora Mays (Mike) of Campbellsville, Ky and Candy Baker-Mobley (Ernie) of Somerset, Ky; brothers: Jim and Eugene; sisters: Dorothy, Linda, Delores, Josie and Phyllis; grandchildren: Jason Troxtle, Jordan Effner, Cody Abner, Josh Stringer, Kymber Lamers, Hayley Mounce and Kassie Baker Purvis; special family member Danny Allen Adams; along with a host of great-grandchildren, friends, family and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12-2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2pm. Burial will follow in Ringgold Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Edward “Ed” Abner.
