Whichever RY’s sent their talmidim to death while actively blinding themselves to the actions and threats presented by the Nazis clearly were neither chachamim nor tzorva marabanans. If they were completely ignorant by no fault of their own (don’t know if this existed in reality or not, I’ll reserve judgement). I’d heard that a certain Gadol in America has obtained visas for his brother (also thought of as a Gadol in terms of Torah knowledge) and his brother’s family to come to the US and the brother didn’t use them and sadly the Nazis apparently killed the wife several children while the brother and several children escaped to Israel (then the British Mandate referred to as Palestine). Additionally, the implications for RYs today, whom most if not all don’t come to the toe nails of the caliber of the people who referred to as talmedei chachamim in Europe before WWII, is clear. Stop your impulsive and at best sophomoric opposition to any form of army and/or national service in the Israeli Army (and believe me, I’m not intentionally blind to potential problems of young men and women serving in combat and other roles together - this needs to me constantly improved and monitored) bc after the October 7th pogroms and the worldwide antisemitism which has been revealed since then, in order to prevent another Holocaust and genocide of the Jewish People is the strongest Israeli Army possibly led by the smartest and ideologically current leaders possible (need to daven to Hashem to enable both of these).

Paul, you apparently misunderstood me. I meant that even if there are possible problems, the so called charedi public should serve in the army and/or national service. I’m not missing the facts nor blind to the reality.
