Top Southern California baseball, softball stars from 5/13/24 to 5/18/24

Sam Burgess, Corona: Burgess hit a three-run home run in Saturday's Southern Section Division 1 championship game against Harvard-Westlake.

Boston Bateman, Camarillo: Bateman struck out 11 batters in six innings during Saturday's Southern Section Division 4 championship game.

Josh Torres, Azusa: Torres tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters in Saturday's championship victory against Pacifica Christian Orange County.

Connor Rangel, Colony: Rangel went 2-3 with a double, a hit by pitch and three runs batted in against Village Christian on Friday.

Jackson Myrow, Santa Monica: Myrow had a home run, a single and a walk in Tuesday's 4-0 win against Pacifica.

Anthony Cosme, St. John Bosco: Cosme allowed four hits and an unearned run while striking out nine batters in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Torrance-South.

Michael Podstreleny, Cathedral Catholic: Podstreleny hit three home runs and drove in nine runs during a 2-1 playoff week for the Dons.

Anthony Gonzalez, Montgomery: Gonzalez struck out 10 batters and allowed three hits in Tuesday's win over Grossmont.

Jack Clark, University City: Clark struck out 18 batters and tossed a no-hitter in Wednesday's win over Sweetwater.

Tristan Aguon, Mira Mesa: Aguon had two singles, a double, a walk, three runs scored, two runs batted in and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over Mater Dei Catholic.

Hugo Gonzalez, Rancho Bernardo: Gonzalez had a sixth inning two-run double to propel the Broncos past Eastlake 3-1 in the Open Division playoffs.

Trenton Uyeda, Poway: Uyeda went 3-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over Santana.

Brynne Nally, Pacifica: Nally threw a complete game shutout, striking out 11 batters in Friday's 3-0 win against Orange Lutheran.

Mikayla Martinez, Ganesha: Martinez went 3-4 with a home run and six runs batted in against Viewpoint.

Eden Skinner, Hesperia Christian: Skinner went 3-4 with a double and two runs scored in an 8-7 win against Jurupa Valley.

Zoe Rutherford, Patrick Henry: Rutherford went 3-4 with a home run in Wednesday's 7-4 win against Bonita Vista.

Addison Suriano, Eastlake: Suriano struck out 10 batters in Wednesday's three-hit shutout against Mt. Carmel.

Alexa Brunetti, Del Norte: Brunetti provided the entire offense with a solo home run in Thursday's 1-0 win against Mater Dei Catholic.
