Discover How Pentecost Can Transform Your Life With The Power of The Holy Spirit

Living in the Awesome Power of God All the Time!

Did you know that as a believer you can live in the awesome power of God all the time? You can! On the Day of Pentecost, and during the Jewish Feast of Shavuot, the believers, both Jews and Gentiles in the first Church received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They were transformed and became witnesses in Jerusalem and around the world. What happened is still changing people today!

Why is the Holy Spirit Important to You?

Who is the Holy Spirit? In the Hebrew language, the Holy Spirit is called Ruach HaKodesh, or what we sometimes refer to as the Shekinah glory of God. When you open yourself up to God and allow Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit you become a living temple. God’s glory dwells in you. You also receive His divine inspiration, speech, miracle working power and prophetic knowledge and revelation. His presence is with you all the time.

What Really Happened on the Day of Pentecost?

I want to show you what happened on the Day of Pentecost. Look with me at the Book of Acts, Chapter 1, verses 4 to 8.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Jesus issued a declaration. He gave a direct command to His disciples. It was not a suggestion. He did not give them an opt out. He made a command and expected them to follow it. He insisted, “…do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father.” He had already told them what was going to happen. Think for a moment about when Jesus said these things. He did not say this to His disciples at the start of His ministry. He said it at the end. These were His last words to them. He was about to ascend into heaven so what He imparted to them was very important and not to be forgotten. He could have said anything to them. But He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father.

Wouldn’t You Like to Be a Miracle Worker?

It is the power of God that helps you fulfill your life’s purpose – spiritually, relationally, personally, physically and financially. It is His anointing that works through you to see blind eyes open, the deaf to hear and the dead to be raised. It’s what empowers you to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. Signs, wonders and miracles happen when you choose to be a willing vessel and allow God’s power to flow through you.

Every believer is called to impact the world in their own unique way. Each of us is to be a witness for God and testify to others about the power of God. What do you think when you hear the word witness? Maybe you are thinking about boldly sharing the Gospel – the Good News of Jesus. And you’re right. Telling others about the goodness of God is extremely important. How can people believe and receive unless they hear this message? You have a story to tell that will touch someone else in a powerful way. Just like Jesus’ disciples, telling others what the Lord has done for you will bring someone hope and help to change their life. That’s the power of the Holy Spirit working through you!

What Message Could Change the World Right Now?

Someone’s message and courage changed Pastor Larry’s life. Back in the 70’s Bill Trujillo, a neighbor who lived nearby, was saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit. With great hesitation, Bill walked across the street to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Larry Huch, who was a drug dealer and addict at the time. The furthest thing from his mind was Jesus, as he was sitting on the porch, smoking dope. Bill later confessed that it took every ounce of courage to approach him. He said, “I couldn’t walk away until I told you Jesus is Who you’re looking for.” Thank God he chose to be a willing vessel, a witness, that day. Bill’s willingness to share the love of God and His Word is why Pastor Larry is able to touch lives around the world.

When Jesus commanded His disciples to go and wait for the Holy Spirit, He knew that they would be witnesses. He has called each of us to ministry to be witnesses, “…whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12. Yes, He said “GREATER”. He has sent us just as He sent the disciples saying, “As my Father sent me, I’m sending you. Wherever you go, tell them the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. Whatever you loosen on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Satan is not worried about Christians that sit around, sing Kumbaya, and never get involved with sharing the Gospel. However, he is terrified of believers that are empowered by the power of the Holy Spirit, know their authority and go into their world with boldness and confidence. They free those who are bound by sin, lay hands on the sick, bring life, hope and the love of God. As a result, signs, wonders and miracles follow them, including the lives of others being changed forever by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You Need a Surge of God’s Power

Many Christians don’t even realize there is a baptism of the Holy Spirit, a second experience that God has for them after they commit their lives to the Lord. Can you really walk in His presence, power and anointing? Will signs, wonders and miracles happen after you receive? The answer is “Yes!” It’s all part of your spiritual journey with the Lord. He told the disciples to wait in the upper room for they would need the Holy Spirit in order to accomplish their calling. It is no different for you. Jesus, referencing the Holy Spirit, cried out saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

We stand on this Word for all those who are seeking the infilling of the Holy Spirit for the first time. And for all who have already had this experience, we believe for a fresh filling. It is time for a life-changing experience that will impact you just like it did those on the Day of Pentecost in the book of Acts.

Your Own Private Prayer Language

When the fire of God came upon believers in the first Church in Acts 2 it was the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One of the evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. The Bible says that “They heard them magnifying God.” When we yield to the Holy Spirit, He gives you a new tongue. It is your own prayer language. The Bible says when you speak in tongues, you are speaking to God and Satan cannot understand your prayer language. According to Romans 8:26, when you don’t know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit Himself makes intercession on our behalf with groanings too deep for words. You may ask ‘Do I have to speak in tongues?’ If Jesus said in Mark 16 that one of the signs of believers is that they will speak in new tongues, then the real question is, why would we not want to speak in tongues?

God wants to baptize you in the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s an experience that is meant to follow your born-again commitment to the Lord. We invite you to watch an excellent teaching clip on this by Pastor Larry that will provide you additional knowledge and understanding.

The Apostle Paul encounters some believers who had received Jesus in Acts 19. They were saved. They believed. He asked them, “Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?” They told him they had never heard of the Holy Spirit. He laid hands on them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and received God’s power. If you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it’s available to you at any time. You just need to ask and receive. The Bible says “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:8). We invite you to pray this prayer now.

Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior. I believe with all my heart that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe that You raised Him from the dead. Now I ask that You would baptize me in The Holy Spirit with the evidence of praying in tongues. I believe that according to Your Word that “everyone who asks, receives” (Matthew 7:8) so I believe I receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit and I declare as Jesus said in Acts 1:8 that I will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon me. Lord thank You that right now You are empowering me to go to a whole new level in my prayer life and this includes praying in other tongues. (Mark 16.) Father God, I praise You and thank You for this great promise of the Holy Spirit. I receive it now in Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

We have provided a free digital download of The Baptism in the Holy Spirit Prayer card along with the 7 signs you are full of the Holy Spirit.

Now let us pray over you:

“Father we seal the power of the Holy Spirit upon this precious person. As they reach out to You for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we ask You to release Your power and the gift of praying in tongues. Confirm this promise in them right now and let the power of God along with signs, wonders, and miracles flow through their life like never before. We give You all the praise and we will give You all the glory in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.”

Christ in the Passover

We are in the moedim of Passover on God’s calendar, but what is Passover about? What does it mean for Christians?
This time was important to Jesus. In Luke 22:15, we see our Jewish Jesus observed the Passover feast on the evening He was betrayed saying, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” It was His appointed time.
