A post has been circulating on social media, claiming that Clint Eastwood returned all of his Academy Awards to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. As per the post going viral on the internet, Clint Eastwood stated he gave back all of his awards as he no longer wants to be “associated with any of the woke nonsense in Hollywood.”

The post was first shared by a website called America’s Last Line of Defense, which also shared the post on Facebook and stated that Client Eastwood said that “Hollywood is morally bankrupt.” The post was uploaded on May 15, 2024, and in just two days, it has received more than 53,000 likes, 5,000 comments, and over 12,000 people have shared it.

However, no such claim was seen on any of the reliable publication’s websites, and neither has Clint Eastwood posted about the same on any of his social media platforms. Moreover, upon navigating to America’s Last Line of Defense’s website, there were many more articles, which were as shocking as this one but were fake and untrue.

At the same time, the About section of the website also stated that all articles published on the website are “satire,” and are “junk news.” Hence, the post about Clint Eastwood returning all of his Academy Awards is fake.

However, America’s Last Line of Defense is a Satire website, and the news posted by them on their website and their social media handles is untrue and fictional.

This is because the About section of the website states:

Any similarities between this site’s pure fantasy and actual people, places, and events are purely coincidental and all images should be considered altered and satirical. See above if you’re still having an issue with that satire thing.”
