In the lead-up to the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings on D-Day, the official trailer has dropped for a new World War II-era film that occurs during the Normandy invasion. Murder Company, starring popular television actor Kelsey Grammer, follows five American troops, a member of the French Resistance and a general as they undergo a dangerous mission behind German lines.

The synopsis by Film Bridge International reads:

“June, 1944. With the US invasion of Europe hanging in the balance, Allied commanders issued a top-secret directive that would send six men behind enemy lines to assassinate a high-valued [German] target. A mixed unit of soldiers from the 82nd Airborne, comprised of men from Easy, Able and Dog Companies, was joined by a lone member of the French Resistance.

“Their mission has never been officially acknowledged, and there is no record the unit ever existed. But those who were there gave it a name of its own: Murder Company.”

Written by Jesse Mittelstadt and directed by Shane Dax Taylor, Murder Company features a host of notable names, including Kelsey Grammer, best known for Cheers (1982-93) and Fraiser (1993-2004, 2023-present). Starring alongside him is William Moseley, of The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, as well as Geoff Sults, Gilles Marini, Joe Anderson and Pooch Hall.

The movie will be released via a partnership between Maverick Film and Complex Corp. The former’s president, Richard Switzer, told Variety, “We’re very excited to present Murder Company to audiences. The film is a non-stop thrill ride with a very authentic feel to it, having shot fully in Europe.”

Complex Corp President Ian Niles added, “Murder Company is an exhilarating homage to classic WWII films, like Saving Private Ryan, with intense action and heartfelt storytelling. Can’t wait for audiences to see it.”
