In August 2023, Musumeci's latest world title defense featured an intriguing test against Brooks, the then-ONE strawweight MMA world champion. 'Darth Rigatoni' dominated 'The Monkey God' and retained his throne with a triangle armbar finish in the ONE Fight Night 13 co-main event.

Mikey Musumeci's last submission grappling match was a non-title bout against Shinya Aoki in October 2023, which 'Darth Rigatoni' won by Aoki Lock. Musumeci now looks to continue building his legendary resume by booking two high-profile matchups over the next four months.
Firstly, Musumeci will face Gabriel Sousa on June 7 at ONE 167. The American superstar must be ready for a tough test, as Sousa has made a name for himself by securing gold in various grappling tournaments worldwide.
