Grabber-Tintes, Bernice passed away on May 9, 2024. She was a longtime resident at Bethesda Grand nursing home in Willmar, Minnesota where she was being treated for memory disorders as well as movement and balance issues. Bernice Agnes Grabber was born November 19, 1937 in St. Francis, Texas, the tenth child of Clara Denton and Frank Grabber. Following graduation from high school she joined the sisters of St. Benedict in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Continuing her education she received her B.S. in Psychology from St. Louis University as well as a Master's degree in Religious Education from Loyola University in Chicago. She taught students in the elementary through junior high. Moving to Minnesota during the 1970's, Bernice pursued a career in counseling and teaching at Ridgewater college. She married Peter Edward Tintes and, together, they influenced the lives of numerous students and developed an organic farm. Kindness was her essence, sometimes over-extending herself in the service of others to the detriment of her own well being. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 713 12th St. SW, in Willmar at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 16th with lunch following.
