"Being named to the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame is a tremendous honor for individuals who have made a positive and lasting impact in their communities," said Mary Killough, acting director of the agency.

Community members can nominate someone through the department's website. Submissions need to be completed by June 1.

Anyone may nominate an older adult, though self-nominations are prohibited. Nominators of 2024 Hall of Fame inductees are expected to participate this fall in an awards ceremony honoring their nominee.
