The British Ladies Club of Luxembourg (BLC) has confirmed that it will host the 30th anniversary edition of the BLC Car Boot Sale at Parking Adenauer in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on Saturday 18 May 2024 from 09:00.

This is an occasion for anyone wishing to sell their unwanted second-hand possessions such as clothing, sports equipment, bric-a-brac, books, toys and furniture and other things, from a table or car boot. Stall holders cannot sell food or drinks; hot and cold refreshments will be available on-site.

Jade Marie Bajai, Chair of BLC, said: “From the very first Car Boot Sale, organised 30 years ago by Barbara Thomson and Ros Egerton, the event has had several important functions. Firstly, it is one of our key annual fundraising events that usually adds a good chunk to the amount we can donate to our chosen charities at the end of the fiscal year. Secondly, it brings people together year after year, creating a sense of community. Thirdly, it reduces waste and helps foster a more circular economy - one man's waste is another man's treasure as they say! Last year, I bought a box of five brand new Diptyque candles for just €10!"

The organisers noted that there will be MG cars on display on the day. Proceeds from the sale of spaces and the BLC jewellery and scarf stands will go to the BLC charities. Hopefully, the rain showers forecast during the week will have finished by Saturday.
