Italy's universities lost ground in
the 2024 annual report of the Center for World University
Rankings (CWUR).
Although 67 Italian universities feature on this year's list,
75% of them dropped positions.
For example, Rome's La Sapienza, which is Italy's top-ranked
university, fell by eight positions to 124th place.
The University of Padua slid from 171st to 173rd place and the
University of Milan went down from 180th to 186th.
