Possible? Outbound on economy. Inbound upgrade to Biz offered at online checkin?
Has anyone flown - short-haul - outbound on economy and then on return (inbound flight) at online check-in, were you offered an upgrade to Business?
Just wondering if the 'chances' are different between in and out bound flights!

Makes no difference on the direction. If there are paid upgrades available and you are on a simple there and back type journey then you might see them offered at any time not just at online check-in.
It's possible, but most check-in desks outside London will not have the ability to take revenue for airport upgrades, so you will be relying on getting an offer online or during online check-in, so I would absolutely not count on it.
Do you genuinely care about BA short-haul business class!?
