Ariana Grande Reaches A Special Milestone With Her New Radio Smash

Following

Ariana Grande is still promoting her recently-released album Eternal Sunshine with her current single "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)," which is growing in popularity. That track, which has already succeeded on a number of Billboard charts, has become a smash on yet another tally, adding to the singer’s growing discography of wins.

“We Can’t Be Friends” rises to a new high point of No. 10 on this week’s Adult Pop Airplay chart. The tally ranks the most successful singles at radio stations in the U.S. that play a form of pop that typically caters more to mature–or “adult”—audiences.

Grande’s current single enters the top 10 for the first time on the radio list this frame. Last week, it sat down at No. 11, which stood as its new peak and high point until now.

Last time around, “We Can’t Be Friends” was blocked from entering the top 10 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart by Taylor Swift and Post Malone. Their joint single “Fortnight” debuted at No. 9 on the list, which kept Grande’s tune from entering the highest tier on the tally, but only for a short while.

“We Can’t Be Friends” now stands as Grande’s milestone tenth top 10 hit on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. She has accrued 28 total placements on the list. So far, none of her cuts have climbed all the way to No. 1, but that may change soon.

Grande earns the only new top 10 hit this week on the Adult Pop Airplay tally. There is plenty of advancement on the chart, including in the loftiest tier, where two of Swift’s tracks climb. Further down the list, singles from Benson Boone and Imagine Dragons also manage to arrive.

“We Can’t Be Friends” is also on the rise on the Pop Airplay chart this week. The tune jumps to a new peak position of No. 3. It looks like the single is making a serious play for the No. 1 spot, but whether it can beat its competition–Boone’s “Beautiful Things” (No. 1) and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” (No. 2)—is yet to be seen.
