IIM Shillong waitlist movement? My take
Hi all, congrats to the converts, I'm Gem waitlisted at 198.
Even though last year wautlist movements were 144 for general, I think this year even if the number of seats increase, I feel the waitlist movement would be significantly less given the fact that PI selection criteria was nitpicky.
People with stellar profiles cut out for better colleges did'nt get a call. So for majority of the candidates who received an offer I think IIM S would be their best call.
What's the general opinion on this?

IIM S seats increase from 283 in 22-24 batch to 382 in 23-25. I doubt if they will increase more this year

To clear the air, I’m joining mdi and iimS was not my preferred choice. And secondly i shared my opinion based on my arguments. If you can counter it well and good, it’ll be a healthy discussion we’ll all leave wiser. If you can’t handle others opinions without being parliamentary, reconsider your mba choices.
P.S read about Ad Hominem, maybe you can score more on varc next year

EWS WL-91 any chance?
Hey can I DM you regarding EWS?
Yeah
I heard that last year waitlist movement was low because they released lot of buffer offers. I don’t know whats the case this year? Btw, I am waitlisted at 193(general)
Congrats... U have cleared in the very first waitlist movement
Bhaiya aapki chodu theory bekar ho gayi. 320+ movement in 1st round
Exactly. How is this happening?
Less buffer calls IG. Last year they experimented with buffer calls and that directly affected their batch strength. Many opted out after converting better colleges. That's the only plausible explanation I'm getting
